large holes that appear on and off
im pretty sure theyre caused by moving fast in creative. they only seem to form when im not looking at them, but that could be by coincidence. theyre far away usually as well.
im using embedium and oculus (the version compatible with 2.2), that could totally be the issue since i know embedium isnt as supported as sodium. im also using connector, but i dont think that's the issue because i use connector with distant horizons a lot. attached my log

pictures show what it looks like without and with hole
i change my mind about it being caused by fast movement because this hole generated while i was completely still in chunks that rendered while i was tabbed out writing the original message
You may need to wait longer for dh to generate chunks. Try turning off shaders, setting cpu load to I paid for the whole cpu in dh's settings, and wait
i tried that (left my computer idling for around 30 minutes), they dont seem to update unless you get close to them and even then they only sometimes do
the chunks are GENERATED, they just stop rendering only in that spot
does a relog fix it?
no (apologies for the late response)
the combination of mods is ALMOST the exact same as a combination that i know is bug-free, the only difference is that the working pack is neoforge 1.21.0 with sodium and iris and this one is forge 1.20.1 with embedium and oculus
(maybe bug-free isnt true but theres no apparent issues)
I'm not sure what might cause the holes then. Does it at least fill in over time while playing?
well, it was at first, but when there were multiple they stopped reappearing
like even going up to them reeeaaalll slowly until theyre in vanilla render distance and then backing away
it didnt occur to me but i could try a nightly build
this was just a test world so i dont care about messing it up
nightly build solved the issue! (mostly. theres a light flickering sometimes. whatever) nightly build does not support complementary reimagined though lmao edit: i was wrong im still getting holes. didnt want to delete the message though for the shader issue
normal ocean
bliss just doesnt render LOD chunks
i think its an oculus issue because each shader seems to give you a different problem
The shaders should work fine, it's indeed more likely an oculus issue.
