Feedback on a recent Uniqlo U purchase
Picked this up from the recent Uniqlo U drop without trying on in store first. Unfortunately they sold out, so I can't contrast and compare with a size up.
I'm unsure if this piece is skewing a bit small, or if the cropped body is intended. Could use a bit of advice on how the piece looks

I like it buttoned up. Could also be a fun piece to layer with
I wouldn’t say that it looks too small. Seems like you have adequate room in the chest and the sleeves are the right length
I’d also try it with 2 buttons done up somewhere in the middle. Or 2 undone at the bottom just to play with the shape some more, doesn’t look too small but does seem a smidge cropped
Good idea on playing with the buttons
Really appreciate the feedback! I was considering selling it, but I may hang on to it for a bit and see how I feel over a longer period of time
Looks small unbuttoned but quite nice buttoned. Interesting item.
If you already have it and can’t return I would definitely agree with playing with it for at least a few outfits
Usually when I wear something outside and see myself in a mirror or window or something is when I really decide whether I enjoy the piece or not
I’m on the opinion that the cropping doesn’t look intentional tbh
It looks a bit small to me
I have this!
I’d say it’s defo intended to be slightly cropped.
But if you can’t return it it’s not the end of the world
Layer a smaller tee or a longer tee underneath
To give it more intentionality
Fwiw the description on the page reads
“Slightly shorter relaxed silhouette for easy layering.”
Too small imo
This piece in particular runs small, sizing up could be great
'relaxed silhouette' suggests a slightly looser fit to me; i'd go up a size personally
This is how it fits me it's the same as yours but in brown colour it looks like a knitted aviator jacket I don't know if it's the sizing with you that it's off.
Sorry the picture sucks, but I was trying to explain to a friend what a popover shirt was
In fact looking at your picture yours looks quite big and loose around the arms, back and shoulders, Im not sure if sizing up is the right call. Have you tried layering something under to see how it feels with a fuller frame?
Nah sizing up is the right call
It’s an oversized fit meaning the shoulders are supposed to be dropped
But you are right about it being in a weird zone between oversized and fitted. Of which it should be sized up not down
sizing down might lead to the sleeves being too short
Also as outerwear you don’t want it to be tight bc you can’t layer
as is you could probably wear it as a midlayer over a tee and under a jacket
one size up makes it easier to wear as the top layer, like char said
