Sizing help for Walker Slater
Hi! I'm getting married at the end of December and have narrowed down my suit options and am looking for feedback on what size I should order from Walker Slater. Specifically, I am looking at this line: https://www.walkerslater.com/edward-suit-jacket-cw-pine-hb
I have a size 42 Banana Republic Jacket that fits me decently and their slim fit pants seem to fit me well in a 33 waist.
A friend of mine has this jacket and vest in size UK 42: https://www.walkerslater.com/edward-suit-jacket-ht-grn-hb
I was able to try it on earlier (excuse the wrinkled pants and mask, didn't want to get my friend sick before their wedding) and looking for feedback on the sizing. My sense was that it is slightly big, but is also a bulkier material than what I intend to order. Am I wrong to think that sizing down to a 40 would be too far? I plan to get it tailored either way, just looking for confirmation that I am heading in the right direction.
Thanks!!

I'd take your measurements mainly or even better measure a jacket that fits you well. I bet Walker Slater has a measurement guide and size charts.
For better pics I'd take them in a neutral stance like you did above, just from directly head-on, sides and back from mid-chest height
their measurement chart directs you to measure a jacket that fits you well, which i did but isn't very direct in how to measure
depending how i want to measure, i get 38, 40, or 42
i did email them directly
but was more hoping for some commentary on the fit of the shoulder and chest in that photo, i'll try to get some other photos if their customer service doesn't clear things up well
Do you mean that you are measuring the chest on your jacket and getting different answers or you are getting different sizes based on your chest/waist/sleeve/shoulder measurements?
different sizes
ie chest is a 40 but shoulders is a 38
ah well, i guess that is a good thing to check
You should lay the jacket flat, button the top button, and measure from armpit to armpit for the chest
yup, just did it again
shoulder puts me at a size 42
chest puts me at size 40
follow the shoulder sizing, tho the pic above I'd say the shoulder are too large prolly
haha got it, thank you
at least confirms my confusion on what size would be best
