Good Value Jeans
As the title suggests, I’m not in the denim rabbit hole (meaning I don’t care for selvedge denim I just want good denim near the 100% cotton mark), I’m simply a college student looking to get basics preferably around the $200 mark per pair, hopefully a bit under that haha
The fit that I like is a loose straight fit, but many of the loose fits I’ve seen are super wide around thighs and taper down so they look funny.
I’ve tried 501’s and they are too tight if I want them to fit well around my waist. (29,32). I’ve got a skinny waist but thicker legs.
I then tried 505’s and they are okay but still appear a bit tight on me, I’d prefer something a bit looser as you could see a pretty big outline of everything in my pocket when I wore these.
The gap loose 90’s jeans seem to have a decent fit from what I’ve seen online, but it’s a shame they have rips (I’m surprised that’s still around).
Ideally I’d like to buy the same loose/straight fitting pant in a medium wash, light wash, and black/grey wash.
I’m open to any suggestions I’ve tried about every mall brand available so clearly I need to find something else.

If you're looking at Levi's I like 568, 555, and Ribcage Wide Leg
Big fan of Railcar Fine Goods. They have a true straight cut. Handmade in El Monte, CA (LA suburbs)
