Overextrusion
Hi, I have a really weird issue that my brand new vc4 is overextruding like crazy, and i dont quite know why. The extruder is extruding the correct amount of material. I appreciate any Idea that could help!

Sorry, I'm really confused. You're saying its overextruding, and that the extruder is extruding the correct amount, but those are contradictory
yeah its really weird, sorry for the confusion. When i do a simple extruder calibration test it extrudes exactly 100mm when i request 100mm, which would indicate that it would roughly extrude the correct amount for every material, but when i do a testprint it looks extremly overextruded
Could be a slicer setting, maybe wrong nozzle diameter or something? That is a large amount of over extrusion and if extruding 100mm actually extrudes 100mm my gut says something in the slicer is off
I checked the nozzle size already, but that also all seems right, i dont know what else in the slicer would influence the extrusion this much, i even tried switching to a 0.4 from a 0.6 and it doesn’t help in any way
Does it look this way on normal prints as well or only when doing this extrusion test?
Also what does the first layer alone look like? It's possible it is not an extrusion issue but maybe you Z is not going up a full layer at a time which would cause excess squish as well
Normal prints are overextruded as well, and the first layer alone looks pretty good as far as i remember, z not going up would be a possibility but i cant imagine anything that would cause that, that would’ve to be a firmware issue but im just using rat os
What slicer?
Check your filament diameter setting, I know cura used to default to 2.85mm filament
I used super slicer and prusa slicer and for both its the same outcome, i also used the stock ratrig profile
