wait, so is it the same as the plus button tht appear next to your friend? like the plus button above a mail symbol

They are different. Mail symbol indicates to invite and send them notification manually. But synergy is like whenever your connection (friend) is online it will automatically pop up the notification.
how do i set it up? i tried many ways it didnt work
What set up do you want?
If you are looking for synergy notifications go to the - Settings, - Privacy & Social , Scroll it and you will find it there.
So I want to set up when my friend goes online i get notification
