Fashion advice YouTubers?
Judging from the discussion over in #fashion, I'm starting to think of looking to find other fashion advice YouTubers than the 2 I've seen the most so far. What would you recommend?

my hot take is fashion advice youtube is kinda lame nowadays
frugal aesthetic is good
Yeah the sad truth is that fashion YouTubers just don’t know what they’re talking about 90% of the time
fashion elitist plays a little too hard to the bit but is also good
Like there’s so few fashion people that actually have any historical knowledge
Just use instagram and look at picture
i tbh do not mind lack of historial knowledge
Plenty of mediocre youtubers, only one i actually like/regularly watch is Antwon https://www.youtube.com/@ThisIsAntwon
YouTube
This Is Antwon
What's up guys, This is Antwon here.
This channel features weekly vids on footwear & fashion, often with a techwear slant.
I cover designer gear, cheaper alternatives, and sale pickups; regardless of your taste, hopefully you'll find something cool!
New videos come out Sunday 6PM BST, with the occasional weekday bonus video
i just think they should be more upfront about it and not present themselves as an authority on a thing
there's one actually good french YouTuber for historical/contemporary knowledge except the only way i know him is through bl*ss foster which 🤮
i was a big Sangiev viewer at his height
and still watch his yearly upload
Yeah nature of social media, it plays better to sound absolutely correct
it is bad!
I liked this guy when he was uploading https://www.youtube.com/@fashionlover4/videos
@Sam the takeaway is watch whoever you enjoy, but don't take their word as fact/law/etc
youtube is great for specific objective questions - how do i tie a tie, how do i darn a hole, what are visual differences in fabrics, etc
if you just like how they dress or how they approach clothes then right on
but if dude goes dont wear green shirt with blue pant and pink scarf
that's not real
but for prescriptive advice the best thing you can do is have a mindset of wanting to learn and then use the resources to do so
If they say to never or always do something just disregard that
tone is also important; if the way they give advice is to make you feel bad or dumb first it's not worth it
This is not exactly an answer but I enjoy watching youtubers who clearly engages with fashion to some extent but it's not their focus at all
There is one thing I'll need to learn and that's how to iron stuff.
you're asking the wrong person lmao
me: hates ironing
also me: finds aesthetic and clothes within said aesthetic that encourages being rumpled as fuck
there are many youtubers that can teach you this
I wasn't asking, I was just saying
I've not ironed before in my adult life
but yeah, that's the kind of stuff that youtube is useful for; you don't even really need to subscribe
