Cloudflare A Record IP address.

Wondering if someone could help me. Network Solutions screwed up my domain transfer and I told then to point my website back to Cloudflare. I see where to edit the A Record but they gave me two different IP ADDRESSES to try that they said were CLOUDFLARE. One starts with 104 and the other with 172. Any idea which one is the right one? Thank you

Neither, both are Cloudflare Proxy IPs that only work if you are using Cloudflare for your dns (in which case, you wouldn't need to set them to that). If you want to use a different dns service you'll need your actual origin's IP, if you still have access to the Cloudflare account you can look at DNS -> Records to find it there.

All I know is that my website worked before Network Solutions transferred the A records to their site. I was able to get into my Wordpress before that. I am really not a WEBSITE GUY (I am in HARDWARE) but have learned stuff over the years. All I want to do is get my site back up again. Is there a way to find out what my original IP address was in the Cloudflare DNS page? Does Cloudflare keep a record. Not really liking Network Solutions right now.

Yes and yes, you'd just look in Cloudflare's dashboard, under your domain, DNS -> Records, find the record you're looking for and you can see the actual origin's IP Even if you transferred away your website's configuration will stay for 7 days, and then you have an additional 7 days after that where you could just add the same website back and the configuration would be restored

Even in the free hosting? Does that mean I can just edit the A Record and plug in the original IP address? They gave me two they think were from you. Should I try one and then wait a little while and then try the other and see if the website comes back?

Even in the free version. Worth noting Cloudflare is not your wordpress host, they're merely sitting in front of it, which is also why using the CF IPs outside of CF wouldn't work

Sorry for all the questions butthis stuff is new to me Network Solutions said they weren't the Wordpress host either. How do I find the original host?

Cloudflare's dashboard, under your domain, DNS -> Records
Then find the record for your website, which would have the actual host's IP, is the easiest way if you don't have any clue who your host would be otherwise

So it's the 3 same IP addresses in the A Rocord? I see the name servers underneath that too

It's possible there's 3 IPs but it'd be kind of rare. I'd make sure you're looking at records for your actual website (name is just equal to your website's name), and you could use an IP lookup tool like https://www.ip-tracker.org/ to see which host they're from
IP Tracker & Tracer ⇒ Find, Track IP Address Location
IP Tracker is not just another locator. Tools like: IP Lookup, DNS Record Check, Whois, make it easy to find how to track and trace IP address location.
