External perimeter with no filament extruded after the seam and blobs everywhere
Hey, as the attached images show — There's something wrong happening on the external perimeter just after the seam. It's the first time I see such issue on any of my printers and I'm not sure what might cause it. The filament was a bit wet PETG, but I printed worse filaments before and it never resulted in such prints, so I don't think it caused it. I tried printing with my tuned filament profile and also with the RatRig-provided PunkFil PETG profile and the result is the same. The attached photos are with PunkFil PETG profile. Thanks for any tips.
Top and bottom layers seem to be absolutely fine.
Also attaching the GCode.
Printer: V-Core 4 Hybrid
Nozzle: 0.6mm
Filament: Tucab PETG (wet)

Also, PA is currently 0.015
thats truly nasty. Is there filament building up on the outside of the nozzle?
i have had similiar issue also and nozzle change did the job. Try first layer test and look how it is.
The first layer looks fine, I was looking at it as it was printed. As for the nozzle change -- I changed the nozzle recently to a V6 Diamondback 0.6mm. I used that nozzle before for PLA on this particular VC4, and on all kinds of filaments before that on Prusa MK3. It never happened with it before
there was
I'm printing the same model with the flow limited to 20mm3/s, that's down from 40 from RatRig's profile and 25 from my own profile
i would try first layer test just in case.
I went the atomic way and changed the nozzle to another 0.6, this time from phaetus that was shipped with the hotend. now, however, it seems like I can't live adjust Z during the first layer test. Normally, after sending
SET_GCODE_OFFSET Z_ADJUST=-0.01 MOVE=1
the change would be reflected in a few seconds tops, but now no adjustments are made at all, even those sent on the very beginning of the print. I was checking was Klipper was reporting as the real Z coordinate, and my adjustments are 100% ignored. Any ideas what that might be? I tried restarting the printer (although I'm gonna do it again now)
Recalibrated the beacon and seems to be fine now, but the print is still off in the same spots. Some of the issues disappeared because I dried the filamentAlso, now I notice that the infill is also not looking good in a lot of places
It’s as if the beginning of every extrusion didn’t put any plastic for the first few millimetres. I might be wrong but it sounds like PA to me, but I already have it at a low 0.015, so that shouldn’t be the issue?
Adjusted the extruder screw mid-print, maybe it wasn’t grippy enough. So far no improvement, though
No improvement. Changing nozzle to 0.4 to see if that helps
with 0.4 nozzle it prints perfectly fine. There's something about 0.6 nozzle profiles that makes it that way
I've read that a LOT of things assume a 0.4 nozzle. Now ya gotta figure out what along the way from slicing to printing is doing it. Good luck!
