Legion Go Crashes
Anyone Had any success running this game on legion Go?
Here's the thing I can Run it at high Graphics 1080p with FSR 3.0 and get about 40 Fps
But the game just keeps crashing
It will run fine and then Framerate will drop to like 1 or 2 and crash
I've tried lower settings at 1280 X 800 only for the same thing

@π¦ππ¦πΎππ π«πππΉππΈπππ¦ This is a game that requires a desktop for a good experience, the game was never built to run on that device so don't expect it to
although I'd check for overheating issues
since you're saying your frames drop just before the crash
I don't think my legion go is overheating seems to be fine in everything else i throw at it
I just guess SOTF is just a little too much for it
I'm guessing running an Egpu wouldn't even matter as this looks like more of a Ram/Vram issue ?
I hate this argument, yes the system COULD be fine in anything else you throw at it, but did you even check temps etc?
or did you just assume it's the game itself
Well seeing as it's brand new and you are assuming I didn't check temperatures
Yes under "Heavy Performance games" the Cpu and Gpu states under 60c which is fine from what I gather
And this is really pushing the system
As far as SOFT this issue is exclusive to this game and it isn't the only system it's done it for me
The steam deck also suffers this Play for awhile then completely Crash
So by all accounts it has to point to the game being too "Performance heavy" not people devices
did you check temperatures though? I'm not assuming anything, you just never even bothered to show me or tell me what they were.
I've just told you the Temperature never reach past 60c ?
As far as showing proof yes I will give me a few hours I'm not actively available to do that
Yes under "Heavy Performance games" the Cpu and Gpu states under 60c which is fine from what I gather
this tells me absolutely nothing
is this a spec listing or the actual current temps?
As I said I will show you in a few hours
I've no idea why being so on the defence about it lol
It would be so much simpler just say the game isn't meant for those devices like you did at the first of this conversation and I'd agree but to apply faulty hardware? What's the point ?
I'm not implying the hardware is faulty.
and I'm not being defensive, sorry you're taking it that way, I literally have 0 reason to be defensive
but if you want to figure out the issue you have to TROUBLESHOOT
if you can't do that, then don't ask people for help
because that's literally all they're going to tell you to do
I did ask for help and You stated the game was never meant for those devices? So what's to troubleshoot?
I've also said the issue isn't exclusive to legion go it happens on the steam deck which I've personally tried
Tbh I don't even know where the arguments going π
there's no argument....
I stated that the game isn't meant to run on those devices which is true
but that doesn't mean that there isn't an issue with the hardware or software that's causing the crash
and unless you troubleshoot you'll never figure the issue out
I have troubleshooted I've tried all different sorts of methods before posting here in fact I've owned the game awhile and I've had 14 Hours playtime and this is all troubleshooting and trying different things to stop the issue
Nothing I have found works and when the owner of this discord states that game not meant to run on it
What else I'm I going to do? Wouldn't it be easier to just leave it at that
the game is meant to run on devices that have more powerful components and a dedicated gpu
but people HAVE played the game on steam deck before perfectly fine
so obviously it's not just a game issue
and how am I supposed to know you've troubleshooted the issue when you don't mention that
I'm not clairvoyant
People have also started that they do play on steam deck however have gotten use to the crashes
But yeah some have said otherwise I really don't know
As for myself I've had no such luck I do love the franchise however I paid for the game full price as well and have not being able to play yes that's probably on me for not owning a powerful enough system
But then again people say works I just haven't found the the solution and I doubt I'll get it by this conversion wouldn't you agree π
so troubleshoot.
that's the only way you get a solution
is to test until you find one
or report it to the developers of the game
Which I have
but seeing as it's not even deck compatible
I don't think that's their biggest priority
Exactly and at that point I'd rather buy a console edition if they ever decide that
But as Trouble shooting yes 40 hours later π€£
I'll end this conversation now because I'm busy and it's just going round and round
why would you spend 400 on a steam deck and then however much a legion go costs
instead of just getting a laptop
If its any of your business I spent Β£290 on the steam deck and then traded it in for Β£261 towards my legion go which was Β£450
I also wouldn't plan on playing one game on it ?
But where are we going with this now?
I'm just wondering why you'd spend that much money on hardware that could've gone towards a laptop which would've had exponentially better performance on every game not just SOTF
because they have an actual mobile gpu not an APU which is a GPU and CPU in one chip
also the Legion go is actually way cheaper than I thought
I understand that however in the UK a good decentish laptop or desktop is well over Β£1000
Something like a RTX 4060 PC you're probably looking around 1500-2000 here
It's not an option for me i wish it was π
And yeah Legion go cheap and decent for what it does offer I can usually get 1080p High settings 30fps on AAA games
Steam deck struggled at 720p
you don't need an RTX 4060 for good gaming performance
even just a GTX 1650 desktop pc is better than the Steam Deck
which is a fairly cheap GPU even in desktop form
Well I'll have a look into that however at the moment I am happy with the Legion Go
No clue how powerful the apu is in comparable some have stated GTX 1650
Ram and Cpu would be lacking in compared to a desktop is what I'm guessing
But it does the Job just not on SOFT
what's the ram on the legion go?
SOTF recommends 12 GB
16GB however its shared Between Ram and Vram stock settings leave the Vram as 3GB So there'd Be 13GB allocated to Traditional Ram
It should be enough yeah what's the minimum Vram Requirements though?
I just got back a few a hours ago anyways hence the slow response
This is monitoring components
The ram is going up more than 12GB usage
The Temperatures though are at around 60ish c
Weird thing however I've been able to run the game for over an hour now with no crash π€
I'm wondering if Bazzite OS was effecting performance over using just windows to play the game
no idea what Bazzite OS is but any OS allocates itself ram to be able to run itself
so you have 3 GB vram allocated and 13 to traditional but in reality you have less cause Windows is using ram for itself as well
but even at just the recommended, this game is a ram HOG it loves ram usage and wants as much as it can possibly get
Yeah I think ram might be the issue with these handhelds
As you said the game loves high ram usage and there's only so much they can give
But yeah bazzite is basically a replicate of the Steam deck SteamOS
It would crash literally every 10/15 minutes
Windows lasted over an hour weather that was luck idk
Zero crashes all night Even on docked
All settings highest except Shadows (Medium) 1080p with FSR 3.0 Quality maintaining above 30Fps
It seems windows does run this way better than SteamOs
Also changed However Stock Vram settings on Legion Go to Auto in Bios
Either one or both fixed the issue for me just posting for others now I can play the game π₯³
