DH Chunks Are Barely Loading (I Swear It's Not Cause Of My RAM This Time) (Single Player)
Some small areas will load, and others won't, it's seemingly random where they choose to generate and where they don't choose too. And the loading is either just not working properly, or is just extremely slow.
On the same world about a week ago, I was using shaders along with DH and the chunks were loading at a decent rate, pretty quickly. But now, not even using shaders anymore, it just seems so slow that I have to be doing something wrong. And when I even slightly start to walk away from loaded DH chunks, they de-load. To even get any chunks loaded in the first place, I pretty much have to walk over to them, standing still barely does anything. And yes, distant gen is enabled, as well as rendering, by the way.
I've already tried raising my CPU load to balanced, quality up and down, and DGM to be more than just surface, nothing worked. The only mods I got that mess with world gen is terralith and tectonic
LOD Radius: 70
Quality: Medium
CPU Load: Low Impact
Distance Gen Mode: Surface

hey is my text just not there?
other people can see it right
Yes I can see it
Can you try setting cpu load to I paid for the whole cpu, then go afk for half an hour?
Alr yea, I'll try that
I did so, and the chunks did eventually load
but If I leave and rejoin, I would have to sit there for another half n' hour to load them again right?
Oh nvm I see now, it was to see if it was even working. So it does work, but how do I get it back to how it was?
No, it'll remember
Adding world gen mods can quite massively slow down world gen, varying from one mod to the other. So the slow generation may be expected for you
You're right, it does remember, I forgot about that
And the world gen speed thing, yea it probably does slow down world gen. But, I've gotten fairly decent loading speeds on the same world that now has really slow loading speeds. It was just fine, but when I joined just before I made this post, it was suddenly barely loading
guess it just corelates to how many chunks are already loaded or smth
It shouldn't be
Well I was just thinking, cause I don't know what else could've happened
if I can generate a large area by just afking for a little while, then that's just fine. Think all I really can do is up specs, which I've been meaning to for a while now
What cpu do you have now?
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-10100F CPU @ 3.60GHz
Don't know how good or bad that is
It's not very good
but it's the fact that it was generating fine then suddenly slowed down a ton, that's why I went here. But getting better specs is probably the best option
Yea, I'm not sure about the slow down
me neither, but nothing I can really do
If you need help picking a new cpu, I could give you some suggestions
Sure, I'm not really into computers and all the workings, so that would be a help
What's the budget?
I'd say anywhere around or under 700-800 right now. Glazing over some general prices and I feel that isn't too low?
unless it is
Alright, you'll be able to get a very good cpu for that, if you mean 700-800 dollars
Well preferably under, but nearing wouldn't be too bad
Do you want to pick a cpu specifically so you'll generate a lot more chunks, or would you prefer a cpu that is slower in generating chunks but provides more fps. In minecraft and other games
Right now, fps is a thing I'm looking to get better, and just a cpu that would generally make most experiences preform better. Pretty much any shader, even with lower settings, tanks my fps to around 50 below
Alright. Do you live near a microcenter?
Nearest one is around an hour and a half away, not too bad, but a little far
Would you want to make that trip for a better deal?
Yea, 3 hours all round is pushing it, but I'm willing if it has atleast somewhat significant benefits than not
Can you check how much a Ryzen 7600x3d + motherboard + ram bundle costs there?
W'ell then be able to compare that to if you ordered a 7600, motherboard and ram and see if the difference is worth it
450
Hhmm that's not much better than if you ordered
Do you have 16 or 32 gb ram?
um...
8
I got 8gb
Oh
it ain't that bad really, but getting even 16 which is double what I got now would be amazing
What gpu do you have?
You're gonna get 32 if you upgrade
I've seen most people with 32, seems to be a standard
but I see why
So what gpu do you have? Just making sure you're not gonna get gpu bottlenecked if you upgrade
Nivada Geforce GTX 1650, I'm guessing that also isn't too great?
But it's late for me right now, and I'm pretty tired. Might have to pick this up tomorrow if it will get bottlenecked and I gotta look for another CPU
Yea, you'll be greatly gpu bottlenecked if you upgrade
Good night!
Good night
but before I go, which should I upgrade first then
GPU or CPU, or do I gotta do both at the same time
just real quick
Both would be better, and can be done within your budget
alright, well good night
Gn!

If this looks good, you'll have to see if this gpu will fit in your case, if your power supply provides enough power, and you'll have to run DDU once you've set it up if you plan on using the same OS install
