Do clothes that look too long on you look better as you bulk?

Not sure how to phrase this question, but I have some clothes that I thrifted that I really like, I'm not sure they fit me well (I'll create a thread tomorrow) and they fit me kinda long, since I'm 5"7 125lbs. My question is, if you bulk up to around 160lbs or more, do shirts or jackets that look too long for you start to fit better? Or is this only a height thing? If it is, does it mean I need to either get garments tailored or buy a smaller size that might fit too tightly? (Like S compared to M where S has a good looking length but feels too tight compared to M which fits well but is too long). Thanks in advance! Will post fit checks tomorrow

length is primarily motivated by height and to an extent your measurements, not so much your physical weight there's no exact guarantee of how clothes will fit after changes in body composition; it's best to buy clothes for the size you are at currently and see how things progress or else accept that your clothes which may be oversized now may be not oversized in the future

damn I hate my height so other than getting clothes appropriate to my weight do I just need to accept that a lot of garments will just not work on me because they were made for taller people?

find clothes you like and, if needed, either adjust the clothes or adjust your expectations being under 5'7" (or any height, or any weight for that matter) isn't a death sentence, see #waywt and #inspiration for plenty of banger fits from short people

This also applies to other people when they look at you, then. I'm 6 inches taller than you, and I can promise clothes do not work any better on me because of my height. Some of the best dressed people here are shorter than you.

For clothes that don't quite fit lengthwise there are things you can do to make them work in an outfit: tucking shirts in, rolling up sleeves, cropping/hemming, wearing shirts as overshirts or over the shoulder, etc. Also sometimes a shirt or jacket might look too long or short in one outfit, but it looks good if you style it differently. Also echoing Carrion's point that being taller does NOT make finding clothes easy. You can't categorize the entire range of adult human body types into 5 sequential sizes and yet that's what we do so everyone runs into this problem at least sometimes.
