i think i said elsewhere that mad men put a stranglehold on menswear when it first premiered- the emphasis on slim fit suits, double monk straps, and the general idea that dressing like don draper = being attractive, powerful and able to cheat on your wife led to a lot of the tropes of #menswear (derogatory) in the 2010s

There’s obviously so many things to talk about re: clothes and pop culture because they go so aggressively hand in hand, but I can’t think of anything that has had more of a consistent hold on my brain and influence on my outfits than these four images
Also—I’m shocked it hasn’t been mentioned yet, but the Big Lebowski is pretty much the only reason Pendleton is relevant to folks that aren’t Americana nerds
