Comfortable and durable shoes for commuting 🇬🇧
Needs: Comfortable shoes that I can use for walking and commuting. Preferably something that is durable and that can last over 6 months.

Recently I've been mostly wearing Converse shoes, mainly the Chuck Taylors (I've got 3 pairs at least). I've also been wearing Converse Cons.
How formal do they need to be? If not formal at all then I can recommend Salomon's X Ultra 360 shoes.
They don't need to be formal. I will need to get some formal ones for Internship interviews but I'd get shoe for those closer for the time. For now though they don't.

What do you normally wear? Not what shoes.
The X ultras are good / nice shoes but hard to pull off unless you dress in certain ways.

I usually wear jeans + a t-shirt and on occasion, a jumper.
Looking at the couple of photos you've posted, new balance 574 can be had for about £50 on sale. Get a pair in a neutral ish colour and get something else too, maybe a Reebok club c in white/beige (£30-50) and you'll probably be set for most of uni as long as you rotate and don't wear the same shoes day in day out.
Not that you couldn't/shouldn't/can't get the Salomon's but they won't mesh well with the kind of things you seem to wear at the moment.
