Moving to Cloudflare makes my Substack custom domain not work anymore
Hey all I recently moved to CF now my https://newsletter.dominuskelvin.dev that points to my Substack publication doesn't work and throws a Error 1014
Any help to fix this that doesn't include removing the site from cloudflare will be appreciated. Thanks

You don't have it proxied, so that error is from Substack's configuration (which also uses Cloudflare) and not yours. Looks like they're using a Cloudflare product for Custom Domains, CF For SaaS. If you can, I would remove and readd the Custom Domain on substack's side to try to give it a kick, or otherwise reach out to their support
Well I can't access the dashboard because of this so its a bit tricky. Thanks @Chaika
At first when CF imported the DNS it used A record and that didn't work either
Now the trick is how to remove the domain on CF and try adding it again since the only way to access it now is the problematic custom domain

CF DNS has hooks with CF For SaaS to prevent issues with custom domains being stuck. It's likely when you removed/modified the A record it imported with, it destroyed the connection with the custom hostname
Well the A record wasn't working at all, it threw another error
I keep wondering if there is a way to “trick” Substack not to redirect so I can make the changes you suggested @Chaika

its not really a question well suited for here since it relates to Substack rather than Cloudflare, but from a quick search it seems your best bet is to contact their support
someone also mentioned you can login here https://your.substack.com/publish/home but i dont know if that works

seems like a poor design on their part, but oh well
Yeah a really poor one, their support is almost non-existent as they default to using AI
So sad
