Premier Pro technical question

Would it matter if I do my editing on 1920x1080 within the software but at the end render on 3840x2160? Thanks in advance.

Not really no. That’s a fine way to do it

Yeah I basically discovered that "by mistake". So far I have always been using the native res of the raw footage (while editing) and my hardware was giving a fight. Ty very much Addie.

I guess I should clarify: if you edit on a 1080p timeline, things are being scaled to 1080p and then up to 4k So you will theoretically (though arguably not noticeably) lose some sharpness/clarity if editing native 4K footage But if your goal is to upscale, sequence res vs render res doesn’t really matter for anything but basic desktop screencaps If 4k timeline performance is a problem, you can change the playback resolution below the player, render proxies to edit from, or edit in a 1080p sequence, then change that to a 4k sequence before rendering (being sure to check any text/graphics to ensure they didn’t shift/change during that swap)

That sounds a very efficient and a smart way and you are 100% right. I presume if the graphs shifts, I shall adjust accordingly?

Yeah you’d just tweak those at the end before final render Better than chugging through the whole edit in 4k

I have to agree 100% 4K editing can be very demanding for lower tier stations
