Each time you send a message, you get XP which contributes towards your level. Keep in mind that spamming does not help, as you receive XP once per minute.

does the xp requirment increase as your levels go up?
It does, yes.
is it even realistic to try get lvl 100 or do i just forget bout it?
Given that multiple members have already achieved it, it is certainly doable.
