Cerbo GX or Pi with Venus OS?
TLDR;
Is my Cerbo GX capable to absorb, display and distribute sensors data and AIS-data onto the SeatalkNG/2000 network? Should I add a PI to offload it? Or should I completely forget the Cerbo and just go for 2-3 PIs?
Background/context:
On my 2005 Elan some 0183 sensors are getting ready to be swapped out, and I want to gather all (that I can) boat data so that I may display this on my MDF or other suitable device.
Currently, I have the
- Cerbo GX,
- Multiplus and
- Smart shunt. In addition some
- 0183 sensors
- Autopilot
- AIS data
Except for the Cerbo GX all other devices are on the same SeatalkNG network, with the use of a SeaTalk ng til NMEA0183 converter. The MDF are able to display all relevant data.
Next would be to connect the the Cerbo to net NG-network. I hope by doing this I am able to display new tank sensors.
(btw.. I plan to build tank sensors by using ESP32 and Signal-K).
Will the Cerbo GX still be able to be my network/sensors hub?
I need some advice going foreward 🙂

Since you already have the GX i would simply start with that
experience and learnings will be applicable if you later want to set up a separate sk server
