Windy plugin needs wind.directionGround
It seems Windy plugin requires wind.directionGround. It seems I can get this on my system (Garmin GWS, Orca Core) only with derived data, but only if I use DEPRECATED option.
Should Windy plugin be updated to something else or is this the only way to get directionGround?

Hi Lure, I am user of the app too, What sources does the data browser in your SK show for that pathes? In my setup (Furuno) I needed the 2nd plugin to calculate the pathes for the windy plugin.
See the derived data plugin
I have the latest derived data plugin and have selected the DEPRECATED wind option in order to receive environment.wind.directionGround but I am not seeing it in DataBrowser and the Windy plugin is complaining also. What am I missing?
im succesfully using windy plugin.
FWIW below is what my derived data plugin looks like
not sure where those thumbs came from? but they are in a number of places in this plugin when i look at it on IOS17 safari browser
did you restart server after changes?
Those thumbs tell you if you have that data available
oh.. thats new ! nice
I must have missed it in the documentation with the PI update 🙂
haha being a bit cheeky i know
Mimicking your derived data seems to have done the trick. Thanks gregy.
🙂 now if windy gave us some "credits" or benefits from being a contibutor (like we get from kpler/marine traffic for sending AIS data) . that would be nice.
Windy.com are you listening!
Seems like the plugin is not activly maintained, found a github fork that fixed some issues. Is there a way to select the fork in the appstore?
I see many new version released this year
I think Dirk means windy plugin that is two year old. This is also why I asked if DEPRECATED option in derived data is correct way or something else should be used by windy plugin
Yes, correct, I am talking f.e. about this fork:
