Crash upon game start
The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: 'void net.caffeinemc.mods.sodium.api.vertex.serializer.VertexSerializerRegistry.registerSerializer(com.mojang.blaze3d.vertex.VertexFormat, com.mojang.blaze3d.vertex.VertexFormat, net.caffeinemc.mods.sodium.api.vertex.serializer.VertexSerializer)'
I have attached the crash report. I also noticed that if I turn off Sodium and Iris, it loads the game just fine. NeoForge version is 21.0.167

Just chatted with a server member who isn't crashing, and the only difference in mods are Iris. They're running 1.8.0-beta.3 and I have 1.8.0-beta.4
i couldnt start neoforge with iris either, would crash with error 1.

you need Sodium 0.6 Beta 2
not beta 1, and not embeddium
Can’t use that version on neoforge for 1.21, it would crash for me, i switched to alpha version and snapshots of iris and it worked

Using older versions will solve none of your problems
Would just give error 1, and the other one for sodium said that i couldn’t use it because it was for 1.21.1
I am on version 1.21, but everything is fine now no problems

Error 1 means nothing
If I update Sodium, I get a message saying that my NeoForge version isn't compatible. I'm running 21.0.167 for 1.21.0 not 1.21.1

You should be running 1.21.1
1.21.0 is not recommended for any mods
All mods that show 1.21 mean 1.21.1
Some of my mods don't work on 1.21.1

1.21.1 is a security fix
which is why NeoForge instantly dropped 1.21
It was tested with my server, and whenever someone logged into the server using our mod pack, but updated client to 1.21.1, anyone would cause the server to crash whenever a hopper was loaded in
…did you update all your mods?
And that particular mod hasn't been updated since before 1.21.1 was released

I don't know what mod exactly was causing the crash, it's suspected to be Golden Hopper by MrCrayFish
@IMS updated my modpack to 1.21.1, all mods still work, sodium and iris are stable, no crashes. Appreciate you brother
