Domain hosting is pretty much personal preference.
You can buy any domain from any registrar and I honestly recommend one that gives you free whois privacy or for cheap.
That and you pay attention to their TOS/fees. Some try to get you by discounting the first year.
If you're referring to website hosting it really depends on your usage.
You pretty much could get web hosting for dirt cheap if you don't need high specs but you also pretty much want something reliable
