The Art of the Fit Pic - Topic of the day 9/23/24
What makes a good fit pic? A good fit, a good camera, good composition, the presence of spouses and/or pets? Should a fit pic highlight the clothes, their wearer, or both? What are some examples of good fit pics that you've seen or taken

Stiff, expressionless face. Rigid posture. Visible discomfort in front of camera
I enjoy my fit pics where I'm out and about much, much more than the ones I struggle to take on a self-timer in my living room. And having someone else (my girlfriend who I'm eternally grateful for) be the fit pic taker makes it so much faster.
How would I know lol
Curious what phones people are using (particularly older iPhone models cause that’s what I would probably get next) my iPhone xs camera seems kind of bad
(Definitely the camera and not me :keepincool:
I will include my dog in order to artificially inflate my fit to #waywt-highlights
I’ve been very impressed by @Elvander shots recently. @Shrimp my Ride and Bishop also consistently impress me with their photos. Among others of course, I just happened to think of these folks now
(dead eyed 1000 yard stare directly into the camera) so excited for light jacket weather ✌️
i forget to take fit pics until I'm with my friends and then they inevitably photobomb me, and then i use my friend's sick fits to artificially inflate my highlights standing
having someone take your pictures is the best possible outcome
usually i get by with a samsung S24, good lighting and personality
I take my pics by a patio door with floor to above head height glass. It gets diffuse, mostly indirect, natural light. I use an old used fuji x-e2s with a 35mm lens that works as a 50mm equivalent. I turn down stops / exposure until I get good contrast. It's set up on a tripod, with a radio trigger , in the other room taking the photo through a doorway since Irish houses are small af. The fuji's have jpg recipes that cook the images to look like film. I think the combo of the fuji hardware / lens, good lighting and their jpg voodoo is like 50%+ the effort of my getting a good fit pic.
i stand in my room in front of my mirror and hit the slay button
Not taking it in a public place where you're getting in everyones way takes 300% better pics
shitty unclean mirror selfie
Staring at an indeterminate point between your feet or off to the middle distance to your left makes fit pics really go off :hard:
Fuji film sims are goated
I love my x100v so much
Bonus pun and/or synopsis of the day's events
I also mostly use a Fuji with a 35mm on it so yeah it’s probably that
Also I mostly take Charlie’s pictures and they mostly take mine so divide the credit as you see fit
If you see me holding my phone in one it’s because I had to use it to trigger the camera because Charlie was elsewhere
Me taking my fit pics
Also a Fujifilm X100v 35mm user
There is also a lot of value in learning to use lightroom. I never edit anything beyond what it actually looks like, but it's very helpful when the lighting doesn't hit a certain piece right or something is weird about the shot.
Well three out of the three people I called out claim to use a fuji 35mm I’ve cracked the code
I think Zach took some of zeo’s pics for fit battle so that was probably also a Fuji
I’m on a sony a7s
And a lightroom subscription
i used leisurely's canon eos m200 for fit battle one round; decent pic quality but also super easy to use (if only i had an extra couple hundred bucks to drop)
gimp on occasion to edit because my torrented copy of PS got corrupted
i'm so dogshit at taking fitpics
i feel like i need access to my wardrobe at home to cook though, cos most of what i'm doing is trying to use my full wardrobe as much as i can
I wish my lighting were better. Mostly that’s down to me not wanting to take my shots in public along with my eight year old phone camera.
Blessed to have a great fitpic spot right by the door in my new place, I feel like I do way better numbers on the same mid fits just bc the lightings better 😅
phrases engraved in the deepest recesses of my brain
Man. I keep wondering if it might be a decent idea to get the bartender to take fit pics of me next time I'm at the bar on a slow night.
Unless you know them real well you will look insane doing that
Bars are notoriously well lit after all
