Built a streaming PC but I can only use one monitor with a 4090 now?
So i just build a streaming pc with an Elgato 4k Pro. Issue is for it to get any signal I have to disable all other monitors aside from my main. I am mirroring the display rather than using the passthroug. It was working when I first set it up with multiple displays but now it will only get signal as i mentioned. Is this normal? what am i missing?

Very not normal
Any clue how to remedy? I’ve tried different cables. I’d assume it’s an issue on the gaming pc side of things but I changed nothing
just had it working again, restarted my PC and now it wont mirror displays unless i turn my 1440p panel off
What do you mean it “won’t”?
It won’t mirror the displays
The only way I can get it sent to the capture card on the streaming pc is if I unplug my other two monitors from the gaming pc
Starting to think my 4090 ports are cooked or something
Does it not show the option? Does it give you an error? Does just nothing happen when you choose duplicate?
The capture card ‘monitor’ is deactivated. When I go to duplicate it, it gives me the confirmation winds but even after accepting it it stays deactivated
I’m thinking it might by my monitors DSC screwing me
What are the specs of all of your monitors?
But that hardly makes sense since it works when I have just the main monitor and capture card plugged in
Main monitor is 4k240hz
Side portrait is 1440p 165hz (set to 120hz)
3rd one is 4K144hz (set to 120hz)
But I disable that one on the main pc for the stream pc to use as a monitor for obs, etc
Hmmm
There’s a limit for sure
All 3 I could see problems with, but just the two should be no issue
Very odd that it’s just outright disabling it without errors
It’s just super strange that it was seemingly working earlier as well.
I’ll fiddle more tomorrow to try and figure it out. Have a feeling that I’ll be returning the capture card though and going back to single pc cause 2 PCs turns my little office into a sauna
I think ill have to return it. I also can’t get 4K hdr pass through to work for the life of me let alone 4K240 hdr. I had high expectations for this card but seems like I have to wait until the next gen of capture cards again
Update: suddently 4K240hz passthrough is working and it's claiming it's in HDR despite windows not allowing me to toggle it on. any reason how to fix this?
also somewhat baffling that I cant record anywhere near 4k if I want to use 4K 144/240hz passthrough
now HDR is suddenly working but when I have HDR enabled the capture in OBS has a almost like blue tint to it and looks a bit washed out to a certain degree. this is with P010 and rec 2100. any idea how to solve this blue tint issue? It makes being able to play in HDR basically unusable
Wait why the hell is the 4K X better than the pro? It is much more versatile in the capture resolutions vs the pro. You can actually pass through 4k144 and capture 4k60 with us with the pro if you pass though anything above 4K60 the highest it will capture is a 1080p signal..
@//addie do you think a revision to the 4K pro will come soon that brings better capture resolutions to it like we see in the 4K X?
Not soon, no
I'm dealing with this for a few months now. Got with support, but got busy and fell through on the communications. I have yet to get 4K120 HDR working without bad pass-through output.
As for the disabled monitor issue, I've seen this before with high-res high-refresh displays. The GPU has a maximum output bandwidth, and you're hitting it. If you set the EDID to 1080p60 on the 4K Pro I bet you could enable the cloned display.
Best case scenario you use passthrough though, cloning displays often causes other issues like tearing, stuttering, and the like.
