The team is working on getting the tools updated for 1.0. There is no ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival), nor will there be. Watch https://discord.com/channels/555424930502541343/708384236159107129 for progress updates and https://github.com/orgs/satisfactorymodding/projects/15/ for an overview of tasks. We will ping everyone in https://discord.com/channels/555424930502541343/555428529903239178 when mods are ready.
yippiee ty xD
@FICSIT-Fred when does Mod launcher work for 1.0?
see the message 2 above
Would u wait for another week or already start U8 with mods to play the game
I'd just play vanilla and add mods later, but this is a question of personal preference
That honestly depends on the mod setup I guess, some could require starting a new game afterall sadly
only satisfactory plus, really
and that won't update for a long time
i think the modders are holding back the mods to make us suffer, and they laugh about it in thier secret discord channels
Archipelago also requires starting a new game, and probably all of the custom map mods
Thanks for the tasks list. Loves everybody's work toward the modding community!
damn, imagine. that would be actually not funni:(
This should have been organized by/with CSS BEFORE (note, BEFORE) the 1.0 launch. This way, at least modders could have started updated mods. Now we wait weeks to play with mods because lack of coordination.
CSS have previously offered limited early access to the mod team, the team didn't want it because they'd end up having to redo a bunch of work every time CSS made a change
the fact is, it takes time
Ok, so it's CSS who then dropped the ball here. Doesn't matter who. There was plenty of time before. Months in fact. My point remains, this was coordinated poorly or from the looks of it, not at all. With other games I play, mods software and mods are available days, if not hours, after the game releases - even after major releases.
No, CSS provide ample support, but the fact is work on modding tools has to be done after the final release build is done. That build, by very definition, is going to be made very soon before release, or they'd release it earlier.
Some games are built in ways which make modding easier, but CSS restructured the whole project so the modding team would have less work to do. You may be unhappy about not having mods for *checks watch* 9 days, but both CSS and the devs here have done - and are doing - a lot of work for your benefit which you certainly don't seem to appreciate right now.
CSS could have released an API and supported mods from start of 1.0. They chose not to.
But Do we talk about days, weeks or months?

hey, you bought a game with no official mod support, and they provide assistance to the fan run mod support anyway
they've very much fulfilled their end of the bargain
And it would of been wasted effort or made the game worse. Because they either wouldn't of changed things that needed changing "to not break mods" or they would of thrown out all the extra work every time they changed something. Quit it with the ignorant bashing of a company that has gone above and beyond.
i ran a poll and 60% thought within a month
15% thought within 1-4 months
25% though 4+ months
hope that helps!
no offense, but I wouldn't put any weight on your poll
a man can dream
and its more usefull information than no information!
so you're gathering everyone's barely educated guesses
that's not useful information
there might be some educated guesses among them aswel, personally id would also vote within a month
Most if not all of the modders have actual jobs to do as well. So it will take as long as it takes!
.
i havent touched my mods at all yet, i am still busy enjoyinmg the game 😄
The only thing I want is Infinite Nudge 😭
The only one who dropped the ball was you with your expectations. These guys are working hard, doing it for free, and doing it on their own time. They have jobs and a life outside of mods.
