i loaded one other mod in and it permanently broke DH again.
removed it, DH somehow has a lasting broken effect.
what mod did you load?
YesSteveModel
The older version though. not the new one
sounds like it is incompatible with oculus, embeddium or DH
Yeah. What i dont understand is how the effects are expanding even after removing the mod and its config file
that is indeed quite weird
can you provide logs for that?
this is the one
im searching for other related files to remove them too and try again
to me this sounds like its still installed
THERES THAT WEIRD ERROR
No, mods removed. I just removed another related .toml file, maybe that will fix it?
hopefully, this is a weird error though
@James Seibel (GMT-6) thats the weird error i was talking about
That error is coming from yes_steve_model.
It doesn't have anything to do with DH.
The weird thing is that it only shows up when DH is present, and YSM isnt.
Along with Oculus and Embeddium
still looking through files.
Okay, no more .toml files, trying to launch again
Hmm. Still broken
whats broken about it? apart from that warning?
Crashes the game, either at launch, or upun attempting world generation.
Ive made sure to make a new world each round, then delete the old one, to ensure that the worlds arent the issue.
just to clarify, does it work without DH?
so only embeddium and oculus?
It does, yes.
Only when the two are introduced together with Oculus and Embeddium do issues pop up. Alone, they do fine, together without Oculus and Embeddium, they do fine.
Standalone apart, they do fine.
its specifically when YSM, DH, Oculus and Embeddium/ just DH, YSM and Oculus/Embeddium, do issues start.
Do you have a JVM crash log? This log doesn't show any problems.
let me see
this maybe?
No, I'm looking for something like this
ah, the PID one.
since i cant tell what was made first, i just picked the first and last on the list.
Id assume its this one, since its a higher number.
theres also reply pid

thats just stacked ones and zeroes though.
The first one is Java's compiler crashing, you might be able to fix that by using a different JVM (I recommend Adoptium).
The second one is Apple being apple and the renderer crashing for no reason. In that case you can try disabling DH's generic rendering.
If that doesn't fix the problem, try a different shader.
If that still doesn't work; remove DH, Sodium, or Oculus as Apple can have issues when all 3 are present.
Somehow this has something to do with something changing, that i know
Because it worked fine when i first tried to load DH, Oclulus and Embeddium. Adding YSM broke something, but idk how.
or what
Reinstalling forge and erasing all files sooomehow fixes the issue as well.
i dont get it, tbh, but thats what ive been able to deduce so far.
Somehow theres some three way issue when the four are present, and only when the four are present.
YSM doesn't use pure Java and appears to add custom rendering, so there's a high likely hood that something they're doing that doesn't play well with Mac.
Adding Sodium and DH, who also do custom rendering, it's possible Apple just doesn't like that usecase. Not much we can do about it.
Fair. I suppose ill try to take advantage of Modrinths instances to somehow partition everything.
thanks for the help
Happy to help 👍
