Clients cannot join modded server unless they join a singeplayer world first.

Hello all! I come with a rather interesting question, and I'm not sure what all is going on and could really use some help. I have a self hosted server, running a 1.18.2 modpack (a custom fork of the DawnCraft pack), and last night i had added and removed some mods, in doing so, 6/8 users cannot join the server now, unless they join a singleplayer world first. what happens when connecting to the server before, is it'll simply hang on "Joining world..." and lock up. I have the latest.log and an exit code from a separate user, I'm totally free to send you the server files, and/or the pack files, or both.

you're running out of memory how much ram are you allocating?
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
Let me ask them <3 User reported normally allocating 16gb of ram out of 32, but also for shits and giggles tried with 20gb allocated, and encountered the same exit code even lowering to 4gb and 6gb, stillsame issue, but i believe this is because it locks up and freezes when attempting to join the server before loading into a SP world it SEEMS When looking at the log from the user is going straight to the server, the log is being horribly spammed with this: [09:11:22] [Render thread/WARN]: There's no species provided for the EntityType

Added: DrawerFPS LMFT Anti-Portal ForgeEssentials Removed: Adaptive Performance tweaks: Core & Items Nether Portal Fix AI Improvements Compass Coords FPSReducer textrues_embeddium because we aren't using embeddium Journeymap Fancy Menu DrippyLoadingscreens Treechop Changed: Emedium for Reubidium (as recommended by another user i was speaking with yesterday) List of what i believe to be the only ones i've added/removed/changed
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
Emedium for Reubidium
that is the Dumbest thing ive heard Embedium is the Better version of Rubiddium
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
:sweatboy: I was told it's a worse version- but gotcha
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
they were told wrong, so you got false info
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
ignore my stupidness, this is my first time doing this kind of stuff, so im really sorry
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
removing drippy and fancy menu is strange dawncraft has custom menus so they need those mods ai imporvements is laggy fair, but dawncraft uses it for custom entities or whatever, question
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
That was because i felt bad using their menu n stuff since we were doing a custom fork :sweatboy:(fancy menus)
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
why remove mods ? :hmm: you can delete the config file and itll make a blank fancy menu
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
:oh:
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
fancymenu -> no config? -> guess ill make another one
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
Ummmmmmmmm complaints from the small group of testers ive got, and recommendations from the user who said Emedium was worse than the other one
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
uh huh i wouldnt remove that mod
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
Gotcha okay
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
typically modpacks are focused around "Sodium" mods (Embeddium) as its a large performance giver, if you get rid of it and put another one that does diff things itll break a LOT it went magnesium, rubiddium, and now embeddium
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
🫡 okay so re-add fancy menus/drippy loading screens, and swap BACK Embeddium for Reubidium is what im gathering
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
id say just reinstall the pack again and start over
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
Yeah? That was the vibe i was getting :dissipate:
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
my suggestion, keep performance tweaks, portal fix, ai improvements, textures_embeddium, fps reducer, fancy menu, drippy loading scree, and embeddium
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
Portal fix was removed because we are using anti-portal, so we can disable the nether/end
Tamz
Tamz•5mo ago
well if you do ever open the nether you should still use the mod, wont do anything if there isnt any portals to fix lol
DeadlyKittin
DeadlyKittinOP•5mo ago
Ah fair enough :sweatboy:
