Wifi issues while playing
So basically whenever i play valorant my wifi gets consumed by the game like i usually used to play on like 20-35ms when i was still active but now after like almost 8 months of not playing and trying to come back i get insane issues like vanguard and valorant both use so much wifi and it makes me spike to 400ms at least task manager says they both use everything. I already dont have the download speed i pay for cause of some local issues but i still used to be fine some months ago. It just ruins my games sadly and its no fun anymore.

check ur servers
im sure its not a server issue unless the server is something which teleports from one point to another in seconds
what's your isp and region?
EUW, EWE TEL

thats very broad but i think u get it
na
can you try pinging your gateway from another device
lets try again tho :val_HeyApple:

i could do more if i could access my router and shit but meh
its a wifi issue at this point
i remember we had a bottleneck in the access point upstairs at some point but we fixed that some time ago
unless its not his gateway?
should still return a ping icl
having access to routers settings would be c onvinent smh
yrp
just makes me mad that i have to gamble if i win certain fights or not
idc about high ping i used to play ranked on NA for fun cause euw got boring but back then i wasnt spiking
managed network probably, ICMP blocked
:notes_FB:
its a local network issue most likely, how many more people connecting to wifi ? is it like a full house ?
you are connecting via wifi from your laptop/pc right ? @Schmelia._.
so they cant ping their gateway..? what
damn enver heard of dat
what are the chances you connect via ethernet to the router ? usually routers have switches build in for LAN access
every normal paranoid network admin should have ICMPs disabled on their LAN
hmmm whats the issue if they dont
also ru still silver
I wont even give you my wifi access when you come to visit me in my house lmao, you get the "Guest" access which is 10Mbps shaped and isolated
awie so rude now the guests can't control your cameras and shit:val_Hampter:
its a minor security risk, but then again if you have a person physically messing with your cables or wifi you have a bigger problem in first place lmao
yeah imagine
is 10mbps supposed to be little π also hm wdym by isolated
still? wdym still I am happy newly established Silver 1
NOT FOR LONG
HEHE
IM GNNA MAKE BRONZE ACCOUNTS AND QUEUE SNIPE U
technically not against tos- ill try my besrt
isolated = dont see anybody else in the network, basically devices dont know you have connected to the LAN and you dont know and see other devices
wait isnt that always the case.
+ what is the issue if they do
sori for so mayn questions im just
rly curious
what's your ping to Europe?
nope, you expose yourself when connecting to LAN, same thing on airport wifis for example
140~ sum
well id be worried connecting to someone elses wifi but whats the issue with someone connecting to my wifi
you about to take my place now huhπ
YEAHH
im rly intesrested in networking
one of my last side projects in computer knowledge
buddy stop being a clone of me
if there are people who have malicious ideas, or just viruses on their laptops they can really cause harm in your network
:Foxy_Angry_REE:
Hmmm i seeee, what kind of harm persay
not exactly just.. yk type
also keep this clean for the player (OP) with his ping issues, make a thread if you want to talk about cyber security
i ahve no perms to make a thread π
unless u mean a new post
no but youtube is free also educate yourself :Iso_GG:
I TRY OKAY
dms will send you some stuff
yup
gimme a sec tho
YAY
any way you connect via RJ45 cable (typical ethernet) to router? at least to test if you get the jitter
to play like game or two
that way you can rule out ISP issues if that works well
and you will know its a wifi that causing the problem
i dont get the jitter while on lan but i cant use it cause i would have to put the cable from one side of the house to the other plus upstairs
i wanted to get it done at some point but its not my router so im not deciding that
yeah understandable then this case is most likely solved brother
thought as much
thanks tho
