Help, I'm confused
Hello! I'm currently using the twitch extension and when I went to add my alerts, I added a custom alert look, and noticed the background went away faster than the actual alert, so I set the background to Loop, and set the time for the alert to be the default, hoping this will make the background loop and stay but disappear once the time is up. Instead it just keeps looping the whole time as well, is there a way I can do this?
Keep the background looping but still have it go away after some time so people can read the messages with the background still there?
I'd appreciate the help cause if there is a way to have it work, then i can make custom "scenes" that last like 10 minutes and have whatever is the background looping then go away when time is up

So the layer background you set is disappearing before the text?
Yeah, but let's say I want the text to last 6 seconds but the ground is 3 second animation, is there a way I can make the background loop for the whole 6 seconds before it disappears afterwards, cause when I select the loop option for the background the whole thing loops
Does the background have an enter and exit animation?
It has the default, so I presume no
I'll check it out once I'm no longer live ^^"
Just finished my 10hr stream, but looking at it, the background doesn't have any other animations, and it's time for entrance and exit is 1,000ms
10hr 🦾
Is it WebM? Can you upload it here?
I'll see when I get home, currently at the gym
Thank you, trying to get that twitch affiliate
I cannot apparently the files are too big
Is it WebM?
Yes
What's your Twitch username?
The same as my discord name
I'm live right now just told my chat I went to grab a bite of some food
Im back
Cool overlay ✨
Thank you
To make the background video to stay longer ...
1. select the layer
2. under Alerts > Animation, set Entry and Exit to WebM
3. for Entry duration and Exit duration, start with 1000 ms and increase/decrease the values until the WebM animates nicely with the layer
I tried it with your Twitch Cheer alert layer and 1300 ms seems to work well for both entry and exit durations. Try it out and let me know how it goes @20Eclipse03 🙏
But is there a way to have a background stay looping and such? Cause I had the idea of having a background or thing take up the full screen so when I type
"BRB!" In chat it will show my WebM video for like 10 minute on repeat but then when the time is up go back to normal?
Cause when I tried, it just kept looping the whole 10 minute thing when I was in the builder
If you use a chat toggle and toggle off the layer, the background will stop
Oh? What would be the command to stop it? Cause it only gives me the command to trigger it
You can set the chat command to toggle the layer on/off to whatever you want.
For your BRB layer, do not use Alerts and a Twitch chat event ... scroll down and use Visibility instead.
Oh! That seems like that could work
Update, I didn't work and I recently became twitch affiliate, with that the extension kept asking me to grant it access and so I did, five times and it keeps asking me for it
Still no clue on why it doesn't work ^^"
Try signing out and signing back into Overlay Expert
I did when I became a twitch affiliate and still nothing, did this last night
Can you try again now?
Just got back from the gym, so let me shower and I'll go live to test it
Can you try signing out and signing back in before you go live?
Sure
Oh yeah that reminds me that, this may be off topic but, my alerts aren't showing for my followers, cause today one of them subscribed, and only I received the notification nobody else did, I have the visibility set to anyone so im a little concerned, do you think we can try to solve that as well?
If I'm asking to much, I'm deeply sorry I just want to try and make sure everything works, an again I'm sorry if I'm asking to much
No worries but we should move this to #community-chat
