issue is that the PA8 pin is already used by the part cooling fan. plus it is an Mosfet output, which cant be used for the tacho signal

was following this wiring guide

PWM is not the Tacho

i realized that now reading oh wait the fan is working now, i just power cycled it weird

Tacho is a signal cable that gives a puls or two each rotation. that way klipper can check if the fan is actually moving

it doesnt seem like its turning off right now both my fans in mainsail say 0 percent but they are both on

with no pwm signal the 4028 will mostlikely default to full speed

so the hotend fan is working but part cooling when i try adjusting just isnt changing speed thats the part ive come to lol

My machine was working fine for a year, stopped using it for a month and now when PWM is at zero it’s 100%

i dont think mine is at 100 or else i would here it, and the ducts dont feel like it

What 4028 fan are you using?
Jack is NOT tech Support
i think sanyo forgot and label is below

Are you using the tacho wire by accident? or the PWM wire
Jack is NOT tech Support
what board are you using?
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago

Yeah same as me
Jack is NOT tech Support
which ports are you power and tach plugged into i think maybe my wiring is a bit messed up
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
If it only has 3 wires there are no tachs Just Power GND and PWM So you can’t really mess it up Is it a 12V sanyo?
Jack is NOT tech Support
yep i changed jumper which port is the pwm supposed to be in then

Lemme look at your CFG 1min

no prob thanks!

[fan] pin: !fan_part_cooling_pin shutdown_speed: 1.0 Put this in your user overide section
Sören
Sören4mo ago
this whole section looks strange tbh 3 time defining the same fan
No description
Jack is NOT tech Support
i deleted that since it was pwm
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
yeah nuke this just define it in the user overide section at the bottom of your CFG
Jack is NOT tech Support
alright did that
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
the problem is you are asking the machine to do 3 different things
Jack is NOT tech Support
fan is still just idlying idling i put that in, no difference at 0 vs 100 percent
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
is it like 50%
Jack is NOT tech Support
yeah roughly
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
well that must mean the PWM is working, as these fans just go to 100% if there is a PWM failure When you turn on the machine does it go to 100% straight off the bat then slow down?
Jack is NOT tech Support
like just kill power? yeah it kinda sounds like it
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
then after a few secs it goes to thsi 50% idle mode?
Jack is NOT tech Support
hold on, checking continuity on the pwm wire and its not reading, may need to recrimp ok, so its still sitting at around 50 percent when i turn the printer on and such when i try turning fan on same thing just sits at 50 and now the pi isnt connecting to the internet
E-TF[102] Riker
E-TF[102] Riker4mo ago
yeah sorry bro, i think we are at the same roadblock, im not smart enough to figure it out lol 🤷‍♂️
Jack is NOT tech Support
Not a problem lol. My pi ain’t working now so gotta figure that out

Sören4mo ago
Did you change the endstop, when changing the toolhead?
Jack is NOT tech Support
