Enchanting any item causes server crash
It's not entirely clear what's causing the crash, but whenever a player enchants an items on my fabric server, it begins having memory spikes and dropoffs over and over until a crash, logs are attached.

an image of said memory spikes and dumps
@brilliance do you have any datapacks (mod or file format), or anything that messes with enchants
nothing that i can think of that would affect enchants server side\
actually maybe one
let me try removing it remporarily
try remove it
yeah
because you are crashing because of a command being executed from datapack functions
but its more of a villager rebalance regarding enchantments rather than affecting enchantments themselves
oh fr?
yeah
minecraft.server.command.ParticleCommand
… minecraft.server.function.CommandFunctionManager
okay its something with that datapack but idk what kinda meth its gotta be on to have this issue
its only supposed to affect villager books
thank you so much for the help
i think it's been solved but i'm gonna do more testing
I would contact the dev of that datapack
Make sure it supports your mc version
will do
okay! removing the datapack did not fix the crash actually
really wierd
will upload newcrash log in a second

!binary your datapacks
Binary search your plugins
Remove half of your non-essential (ie not things like PAPI or LuckPerm) plugins and see if the problem is fixed.
If it still persists, the cause is in the half still installed.
Continue to halve the remaining plugins until you've narrowed it down to a single plugin.
Congratulations, you found the culprit.

ah
alright
gonna be a pain because some of the datapacks are installed via mods
oh man
just remove them one by one tbh
or binary
if you don’t have that many
maybe one by one is better
i just realised it might be a datapack that does animations
that
would explain particles
lmao
if you know they use particles
yeah rn its doing particles still
but i removed other datapacks
rather than the one that is spawning the particles ⁉️
try remove the animations datapack
this is kindof funny
:LUL:
idk which datapack is spawning the animation is the issue
lmfao
you could… try remove EVERY datapack
if you know it won’t break shit
then reintroduce them
again, a pain because some are installed via mods
:(
remove all the datapack files
if you still have the issue you know it’s one of the mods
theyre in theory datapacks but they dont like
exist in reality
this shit is too complex
wait
i dont need alternate reality datapakcs
lmaoo
Do you have any datapack files?
or are they all mods
or is that a screenshot of the folder after removing them all
:stare:
brain damage
wtf
those are all mods
interdimensional datapacks
have fun
yeah but theyre listed as datapacks 😭
yeah
mods can be datapacks
unfortunately
so
uh
xd
all you can really do is remove em slowly
either one by one or binary
just
take a backup before you start
i think i figured it out
im re adding the old datapacks and will relaunch and test
nice
yep! it seems to have been one setting in a datapack
lovely
will do more testing to make absolutely sure but
thanks
