LOD chunks vertically offset from real chunks, creating duplicate mirage effect
(Occurs with or without shaders). Changing overdraw protection simply increases the distance at which this occurs but doesn't prevent it
Solution:Jump to solution
okay good to make a note of that: Solution is to disable the chunksfadein mod, at least with version 1.0.2 of chunksfadein and version 2.2.0-a of DH

i cant see the issue, or i dont understand what the issue is. can you highlight it with some red pen?
sure one sec
oooh
jeez im blind
does it also happen without shaders?
if not, its a shader issue
yeah but from further away (i think because my overdraw setting is further without)
okay it gets weirder
they don't actually load higher
because i flew my freecam out to the edge and you can see looking down the edge of real and fake chunks, they're all level
yea i have no idea lol
weird issue
it's more like the way they sit on the fov is weird
like their angle is wrong or something]
the parallax i can't even explain it lol
what is your FOV setting?
is it something extreme?
quake pro
just default max
what shader?
bliss (but happens without shaders too)
it looks correct for me
do you see the way the chunks seem to move?
kinda hard to spot it happening but if you look close at the centre
yea, weird
wait a better way to put it
the horizon is too high
not the chunks, the horizon itself
do you have any other mods?
a few but not sure if any would impact it
i'll send the list
i dont see anything that could change anything, but can you check with just iris, DH and dependencies anyway?
i did update all mods automatically today, seems like it started roughly after that
sure one sec
well that's odd
was working before i disabled all the mods
all mods are on the same version
oh i enabled the wrong version of DH
one sec
0.o
version 2.1.99???
nah that's not the one i've been using
what did you do to poor DH
i think
what have i done?
huh
im confused now
i haven't modified it
realising this glitch is gonna be way harder to check without the freecam mod
well perhaps unfortunately
that fixed the problem
so now i have to find which mod causes the issue
any ideas where to start?
i have no idea no
well time to start testing i guess lol
well i genuinely don't know
i re-enabled all the mods i actually use
the issue hasn't come back
maybe i just had to restart the game
i dont even know lol
okay i've tried setting EVERYTHING to how it was before i disabled them all
and the bug is back
so
one of those sketchy looking files that prism downloaded when auto updaitng is causing the issue
that is strange
that is really strange
hmm closing in on it
HUHHH
it seems like it's the ambient sounds mod
what in the world
specifically this file
that prism downloaded
when auto updating
just gonna try doing only that file, iris and DH
okay now the bug doesn't happen
- bug
okay wait it wasn't that
- still bugged
still bugged
still bugged
aha!
seems like it's the chunksfadein mod
aaah
yeap
seems like that was the culprit
something that changes rendering, that would make more sense
just to be sure im gonna test just DH, iris and chunksfadein
yep, it's chunksfadein
