i live in malaysia but my ping on singapore is higher then hongkong

Its an issue caused by the isp sending traffic from a longer route to riot servers

I think valorant singapore server starting to get better
13ms two days a row, sometimes 66ms at night
I raised it up with them they told me they will look into it, looks to improved a bit still see spikes
unfortunately this is out of our hands and ISP have to fix this to improve the situation, ill keep pushing for fixes
i called unifi earlier and they sent me a technician to look into the packetloss issue but he result in game problem and not theirs.
yeah this is a bigger issue in the ISP backhaul unfortunately, unless you had a different problem in house

Cuz of this sudden lag from 13ms to 200+, I cant do anything and ended up with 3/15 made my team lost

just to update you folks, we are still pushing TM to get it fixed for you guys, but they are not the most flexible people to work with I think its given the scale of the ISP. Please query all your problems to their support center, usually when that happens they are forced to work with us on a solution

alright good news we are in close talks with TM to establish a private link between our parties. This should release majority of the congestion, this should also hopefully eliminate the packet loss and you guys should even get a slightly better latency, ill keep you posted on the progress

^^^ TM topic - we are still working to get the physical link up with them, unfortunately this takes time as both parties need to physically install fibre between their own equipment. meanwhile we did some work on the congestion while I still see spikes there are less of them and shorter. Assuming this will go to shit on weekend as many more players play :Gekko_Wingman_RIP: which is good, but in this case bad for TM ISP

yeah I dont know whats happening in TM/Unifi but the ping should be back to normal again as per our metrics. We are still working with them on the private link, I am hoping to get it done this week (Riot side is ready fyi)

@Kenji-San Only out of curiosity and in regards on general knowledge, I wanted to know why some of us tend to face packet loss during specific hours of the day ( in my case 12:30PM to around 5:00PM) and literally have no packet loss at late night?
Given we have a fiber connection on an ethernet and modem router
generally if you have ploss at certain time that indicates congestion at some level
ether your internet provider or somewhere on the path towards our servers
that's specifically incoming ploss
in my case

imagine having a 1Gbps link between a point A and point B, but at some time when everyone comes from work home wana watch some movies, play some games, stream some stuff they all use internet traffic
so lets say without any proper quality control your link will get bombed with requests of more traffic that your link can handle
no one of my teammate just left the game lol
and by default routers will start to buffer some of the traffic
this could be managed by client by reducing the amount of devices used on the home network inorder to eliminate some of the network congestion right?
when they cant handle the buffer anymore they will start to drop the packets, again without quality control we dont know what is being dropped as routers dont care, it can be critical infrastructure packets or just your game packets
because the highway for the internet isn't big enough?
most of the cases are that ISPs port facing DCs ( IXs) are being congested as everyone drops in to play games or downloads stuff, they start to drop and you get ploss or latency increase
^ thats the good case as that can be fixes with upgrade of ports
eg from 10G to 100G
but sometimes they have congestion in their own network
thats worse and you need to force ISP to investigate and generally they dont care

definitely not normal, you playing on wifi by a chance ? any specific pattern like between 8pm-12pm at night (your local time) ? want to rule out the congestion problems
