Starting a capsule wardrobe, could use advice.
I’m trying to be very intentional on the pieces I buy so that anything can match.
My starting point is building off this outfit. Right now I’m trying to find decent-good quality denim shirt, some kind of low heeled casual boot/service boot/slip on. Any help is appreciated.

budget and location would be useful
on a broader level we had a couple of recent discussion threads about versatility and capsule wardrobes that may be worth reading in terms of how to structure your thinking https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1259539428930621561 https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1260264203332092018
USA, Washington State
Budget ~$2000
the fit you posted looks very filson-core, they have brick and mortar in Washington if you want to try things on
Unless you meant Washington DMV
there's also a brick-and-mortar filson in DC
Blue owl workshop is also in Seattle
is $2000 the budget for just the shirt and boots?
If you don't find anything you like at those shops, wythe, ralph Lauren, and Brycelands do great denim shirts
brycelands, orslow, bronson mfg, vintage wrangler/levi's, maybe wythe all have denim shirts
for the boots our legacy camions are an option if you can catch a deal, or a simpler boot by tecovas
Budget is pretty flexible. Trying to focus on quality over quality. But boots, jacket, shirt. I have some rogue territory standard issues, & just ordered some Imogene+Willie which I hope work out
But a nice denim shirt, outcoat, and boots is mainly what I’m trying to find.
check out wythe for denim shirts:

Wythe New York
Denim Pearlsnap Shirt - Rinsed Indigo
The real icon of the west: an indigo dyed denim shirt. Take it up a few steps with a rear western yoke mirroring the most beautiful patterns of the 1940s and 50s, and custom antiqued cream pearl snaps. This shirt has all the details you'd expect of a real western shirt and then some. The indigo rope dyed denim will fad
are you looking for a water-resistant jacket or something like in the photo?
Maybe just something like in the photo for fall/spring.
Or layering in winter too, experience all 4 seasons. But I have snow gear
if quality is the only thing youre after you should just get a real mccoys repro m65 fishtail and viberg service boots
Essentially, I want to build this outfit as a base & be able to swap tops out
realistically any repro brand will make a m65 jacket, heres one from bronson https://bronsonshop.com/products/bronson-1965-us-army-1st-model-og-107-m-65-field-jacket?_pos=1&_sid=edf26ecee&_ss=r

US Army 1st Model M-65 Field Jacket
The M-65 evolved from the M-1943 Field Coat via the M-1951 and was in service from 1965 until 2009. The color is officially “Olive Green 107”. From the M-1951, the significant changes were a storable hood, snap closures on the four main pockets, and velcro cuffs. The collar transitioned from a shirt-style collar to an upright collar. I’m not very exciting, literally trying to make a daily uniform based around black denim, it stresses me out that much
my recommendation with a smaller capsule wardrobe is to not buy everything at once. buy 1 thing per month. stop buying as much as possible, don't add something into your wardrobe until you've given yourself time to think about it.
those are suede chukkas
Recommend going to Blue Owl. Lots of cool brands there, including my fave, Freenote Cloth. Can find lots of Freenote stuff for 30-50% off if hunt well online.
Love Blue Owl. Also highly recommend dropping in the Filson store if you have the time, as someone else mentioned.
