Chuck 70s durability?

Hi everyone, a couple months ago I bought myself a pair of chuck 70s and love them. Recently I’ve noticed my feet hurt when I wear them. My ankle always has some pain, and it feels like there is no support to my feet at all, like I’m walking on bare ground. They did not used to be like this. Is there something I can do to fix it, or are these toast after only a few months?

chucks have no cushion and are super flat, its why people like them for weightlifting. You could get insoles for them. I don't think theyre toast unless theyre falling apart

I guess what wasn’t clear is that they just started hurting. I’ll try new insoles for them but I’m worried the issue is more fundamental than that

sounds more like a foot thing that's developed on your end than a chucks thing. Like raisin said, they're crazy popular for lifting specifically because they're flat and thats not a recent development. You might just have new foot needs.

it could be your feet finally saying yeah no these aren't for us please set us free If there's no visible damage it's almost certainly just chucks being chucks

I spent good money on those. I’m kind of sad if they don’t work for me It does seem like its just a foot issue. It sucks that all the cool sneakers are for people with flat feet

As someone with flat feet this is a real struggle lol New balances are the comfiest shoes I've ever worn but they don't go with my style rn

I put superfeet in pretty much all my shoes with removable insoles

I have flat feet so I put insoles in all my shoes. I have chuck 70s and have never had an issue. If you can find a running store near you they might have a foot scanner that can analyze you feet and gait and recommend a non prescription insole. For me I really need prescription but I’ve been lazy and know the brand and model of a non script one that works

Funny thing is the orthopedist i went to as a teenager bc of flat feet told me outright to avoid chucks bc while they accomodate flat feet they don't really support the foot and that makes the issue worse long term. So at least according to my orthopedist a lot of cool sneakers are very much not for ppl with flat feet.

I got the same answer from mine as a teenager He commented every time to stop wearing them And I’m like “yeah but they’re cool”

I’ll try new insoles, thank you all! I’m very glad I don’t have to write them off yet, I love how chucks look
