Iris 1.7.5 or 1.8 is not available for 1.20.4 or 1.20.6 on modrinth.
requirements from #faq-general :
DH 2.2 + Iris
Minecraft 1.20.1, 1.20.4, 1.20.6, 1.21.1
Sodium 0.5.8+
Iris 1.7.5, 1.8, or newer
Fabric API
I am aware I could probably download it manually, wanted to make this aware

Also the reason I am trying an older version is because 2.2 has ReplayMod support, but the replay mod is not out for 1.21.1 yet
1.8 is not fully released yet, and im not sure if 1.20.4 and 1.20.6 will receive a 1.8 version yet
yeah that's the issue, the requirements write that 1.20.1 1.20.4 and 1.20.6 are usable but they're impossible until iris is updated for those versions
maybe I can do it with 1.21 but not sure

At the moment for Replay compatibility I am using 1.20.4 with DH 2.2
still a bit buggy though from what I see, especially with shaders
1.21 also works for replay mod
