DH not generating LoDs, extreme lag when enabled in Single Player.
DH doesnt seem to be working at all, no LODs generating whatsoever, i've deleted the config as suggested which does not resolve the issue.
I initially had DH installed and working properly but now it seems to be broken.

If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)try the second part to see if its working
after i deleted the config and restarted a few times it was working. but sometimes ill load in and it does the same thing. this seems to be a reoccuring issue where the LODs get disabled
with extremely low framerate
the wire frame render works when its working, but it seems like DH is putting too much tax on the system maybe. But other times it will load a full 128 no issue with frame rate whatsoever. I will restart the game, then its completely unable to handle it.
I tried reducing cpu impact to minimal, and reducing LOD to 100, doesnt seem to impact the issue whatsoever unless i turn off lods completely, or delete the config and restart. almost like the config is getting corrupted repeatedly.
thats weird. does the same happen if you try with just DH? asuming you also have other mods
This sounds similar to my issue. @strutman What os/gpu do you have?
Nvidea 1070 and windows 10
I have somewhat fixed the issue by lowering my vanilla render distance, using full-screen mode, turning down cpu usage to minimal /balanced and allocating more ram.
When I tried to use threading options it seemed to not work and even cause the issue. Although I used the recommended for a 12 thread cpu
Values of 6s and 3s and I think the last one being 5.
But that didn't work so I use the default settings. Would love to know what's up with the thread settings
