Need advice on polos and pullovers for tall guys in mid-tier brands
Hi everyone! I tried posting on Reddit, but it gets filter automatically for some reason.
I'm looking to improve my wardrobe and could use some advice on picking the right brands and items. I'm planning to buy 5-6 polos and a similar number of pullovers, with a budget of around 150€ for the polos, and a bit more for the pullovers. I’m particularly interested in trying new materials like linen, wool, and cashmere so I am ready to settle for a couple items from H&M if I get to try some great stuff.
Some brands I’ve considered are Uniqlo, Mango, Banana Republic, and J.Crew, but also some brands from Zalando like Pepe Jeans, Jack & Jones, We Fashion. I’m open to suggestions, especially since I’m tall (195cm/6'4) and around 90kg (200 lbs), not very muscular at the moment, but on my way. I often struggle with M sizes being too short and L sizes looking too large. Any advice on brands that cater well to taller guys or fit tips would be greatly appreciated! Please tell me if I am delusional on this matter because I am 20 y/o student in Slovenia with 0 experience in clothing.
Thanks in advance!

I'm a similar size to you, and in most brands I wear a large unless I specifically want a slimmer/tighter fit. It's possible you might just not be used to looser fitting clothing, but you can always post pictures here if you want feedback on how something fits. Also every brand is different, and you might be a M in one brand and an XL in another, you have to look at size guides and try things on to be sure.
If you want help with clothing for tall people, look at the /r/tallfashionadvice subreddit. It isn't the most active sub but there are guides on brands with tall sizes there.
For the price point you listed, you'll probably have the best luck looking at secondhand clothes from sites like eBay. One thing that's nice about secondhand shopping is that you'll usually see the actual measurements of the clothes which most brands don't give you.
I will give the caveat that I live in the US so your experience shopping in Europe might be different from mine.
I will also say, it's best to go slow and not buy too much stuff at once, especially if you're on a budget. This gives you time to figure out what you like before you commit to more clothes.
Okay, thank you very much for advice.
