One domain will not accept DNS changes

Hello, I am having a problem with just one of my domains: mushroomxmr.com I cannot point any IPs towards it for resolution. For example right now I've got these records: mushroomxmr.com. 300 IN A 172.105.25.163 www.mushroomxmr.com. 300 IN A 172.105.25.163 I have tried the EXACT same setup and IP on other domains I have with CloudFlare and this is the only one giving problems. I test it by using ping mushroomxmr.com and I receieve: Ping request could not find host mushroomxmr.com. Please check the name and try again.

I've allowed over 24h for domain propagation

whois says the domain is in redemption period, which usually means its expired but could mean it's pending deletion for a different reason https://icann.org/epp#redemptionPeriod is that wrong? the registrar is cloudflare so you can check on the dashboard under Manage Domains if there's any issue

I think it was set to not renew and I changed that to renewal but nothing indicated in my account at all that there are issues I see now a notice about redemption period They are asking for a fee of $44 plus domain costs because I cancelled the renewal early? I will probably just abandon the domain at that price

it's because you let it actually expire, and registries charge restore/redemption fees for getting out of the redemptionPeriod

but it actually didnt expire I got it in February 2024 so it expires in 2025. I just set it to "not renew" in cloudflare. Then I changed my mind back and this happened I guess idk why they would deactivate the usage of the domain right away Feels a bit like a scam if I can't change DNS settings at this point without paying the $44 fee and restoring

setting it to not renew wouldn't. I guess that pendingRedemption can be used in other cases
This status code indicates that your registrar has asked the registry to delete your domain.
If you want to keep your domain, you must immediately contact your registrar to resolve whatever issues resulted in your registrar requesting that your domain be deleted, which resulted in the redemptionPeriod status for your domain. Once any outstanding issues are resolved and the appropriate fee has been paid, your registrar should restore the domain on your behalf.

Yeah that is pretty messed up I opened a ticket already but CloudFlare didn't answer and I don't think they will since I'm not a subscriber I don't think over 48h

yea something else happened, not just setting it to renewed or not. Maybe if you manually clicked delete. You could ticket registrar support if you're confused, might take a bit for a response thuogh
PGP

It literally says that tickets are not supported for free tier

Anyone can make registrar tickets, make sure you pick the right category

Thanks for your help I think you can mark this resolved now that I know what's going on I'm just gonna get a new domain I don't really see them fixing this

it really depends on what happened, might want to find out just for future's sake if you broke the terms of service or something. If there's no reply on the ticket for a while we can escalate, I haven't heard of too many people having issues w/ registrar tickets though. You have one open under the right section?
