i have a 6950xt 7 5800x and 32 gb of ram
Dh uses your cpu to make lods
No matter how good the cpu is, dh will consume all of it
Make sure you're using cpu load setting on balanced or aggressive
Another reason is because vivecraft renders 360° i think

it records the performance and everything that's happening in the game
Also records stuff from mods
So other people could diagnose the problem
i played mc with just DH and vivecraft
and had really low fps
took off DH and it was fine
Could you try running without vivecraft, and then see if dh does the same fps drop thing
i have
today i removed everything
and only had DH
i have 70-90 fps flate screen
remove it
and i had 300-400
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive settings of CPU Load. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering and Show World Gen Queue to True.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)Yeah most likely just the cpu getting stressed

Basically unless your cpu has more than 20 cores then max setting will just make it slower
I suggest just waiting for dh to finish loading up all the lods and then play after
