gap between actual render and distant horizons render
there is a void between the actual render and the distant horizons render

does this only happen while moving
if so your cpu can't keep up with loading vanilla chunks
also hi i recognize you from rtf lol
h e double hockey sticks isnt pg?
thats news to m
no its permanent
varies by culture but yag blocks a lot here
including the things beavers build
try tweaking overdraw prevention in advanced -> graphics
un momento
tweak up or down? its 0.4 rn
also, hardware isnt a limitation for me, i have a 7800x3d and a 4090
shouldn't be happening at 0.4, can you try 0.0?
ah yeah that fixes it
odd. are you using a zoom mod?
those tend to cause issues
(when actively zooming)
no just a screenshot i took
i only took it of a part of my screen
ic
the problem with having overdraw prevention so low is that lods will render way too close so stuff like glass and stairs will look really bad
try increasing it slowly until the issues start to occur
i set it to .1
try moving around to see if it's fixed
you shouldn't notice any gaps at all
i think its working rn, im just having alot of trouble with the server stuff
whats the command to rcon myself into creative mode?
through rcon? no idea, do you have console access?
gamemode creative playername
oh i just guessed it rn
its /op (user)
ive never used the rcon before
is rcon p much just console
remote console
ah i see
lol
here are my settings
@Yeshi (GMT+2) is there a way i can mass render chunks? or do i have to walk into each one
turn on distant generation and wait
wheres that?
with the cpu load preset set to aggressive or i paid for the hole cpu
oh yeah its on
front page of dh settings
its not working tho
it's really slow
cuz it relies on minecraft worldgen
its not working at all
/slowgen
If it feels like LoD generation with
Distant Generator
is too slow:
Install Noisium and Faster Random, these mods optimise world generation code.
Try increasing CPU Load
in Distant Horizons settings for faster generation, but you will experience more lag spikes and stuttering due to heavier workload on CPU.
To see if Distant Generator
is really working or not:
1) Check CPU usage while in-game, using Aggressive
settings of CPU Load
. If CPU usage's hovering around 80-100%, the LoDs are generating in the background.
2) Go to DH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, set Enable Debug Wireframe Rendering
and Show World Gen Queue
to True
.
Enabling both settings will show you the visualization of world gen tasks queued and working on the map (blue boxes for queued tasks, red boxes for working tasks)do the second part
no nothing is generating i can assure you
not one chunk has been loaded except if i walk over it
just to see if the generator is stuck or something
debug rendering will reveal that
which setting
2) Go tothis when you enable those 2 you'll see outlines being drawn around where the world generator is trying to generate chunksDH settings > Advanced Options > Debug > Wireframe
, setEnable Debug Wireframe Rendering
andShow World Gen Queue
toTrue
.
i dont see debug wireframe rendering
dig around a bit
like i have wireframe rendering enabled
if thats what that means
oh i got it
it's under another submenu
nothing shows now
the only thing rendered is the actual area im in
time for another hour or two of debugging yayayaya
ima grab some food while we do this brb, feel free to suggest more while im away
this is usually the part where all the usual suspects have been eliminated already
we're in the wild west now
any ideas?
look at your allocation rate
if worldgen is running it'll be in the hundreds of mb/s range
i can do that in a minute brb
no its not
try restarting the game ig
