External displays do not work on deck with bazzite
I have setup bazzite on my 512GB LCD steam deck and everything beed working except I can't connect it to an external display.
I tried the same dock I used on steamos (it was a laptop dock) and the usb ports are reconized but not the HDMI ports.
went into the desktop and ran
kscreen-doctor -o and it only showed the built in display

Hmm works now
I transferred my old nvme to the new deck and on the first boot
But after updating and rebooting it worked
Did notice there was a kernel update to 6.10 on bazzite stable ...

just connected the dock to my laptop and the HDMI ports work there so the dock is still working ....

no niether dock doesn't have displaylink
I'll see if I can reproduce it but we have a lot of people using docks without issue
Not sure what that could be
all i can think of is a defect with the hardware but if that where the case i don't think the usb ports would work
I have an official dock and it turned out to be a hardware issue with the dock I was using.

i tried both of my docks with a laptop it works there
so if its a hardware issue it would be on the deck i think
fudge I guess im going to have to re install steamos to see if it works there. and i don't think the steamos installer supports dual booting?It will only do a full reflash of the entire drive

i dont think reinstalling steamos will fix this its looking like a hw defect on the deck. tried several live usb of several distros and can't get the hdmi port working
ok this getts even stranger on garuda I got the displayport of my jasux working but not the HDMI .... again the HDMI works on my laptop so for some reason my deck no longer likes HDMI 😕
not to mention I cant get the displayport working on bazzite so no idea what garuda doing diffrently here other than a newer kernel

Yeah no it's definitely something with my deck
different hw but steamdeck jsaux dock works with my Legion GO with bazzite (even though the legion go has to be put upside down in the dock)
un-named dongle dock also works
The strange thing is only display Port works and only on Garuda
Well at least I didn't see it in kdoctor didn't try actually plugging in a dp cable while in bazzite (did on Garuda and it worked). And I had to leave do can't check now
Apparently the USBC connector on my deck is loose tried wiggling it and momentarily got a signal on the HDMI port
Best part my deck is out of warranty :frog_upsidedown:
New deck same problem makes no sense dock works on laptop:thonk:
