DH Crashing with Sodium and Indium 1.21.1 Mac M1
DH 2.1.3-a-dev-1.21.1
Sodium 0.5.11
Indium 1.0.34
When I launch DH alone, it works as expected with moderate performance. I want to increase the performance, but adding Sodium crashes the game on launch which is an expected error. I added Indium to fix this, however the game now exits on world load (At 100% load screen) with no crash report. It just disappears. My best guess at the moment is a problem with OpenGL or other performance related issues. Not sure how I can go about debugging or fixing it though, would appreciate any help.

dh 2.1.3 is incompatible with sodium 0.5.11 iirc
I'm going to kick myself if it's that easy of a fix...
That seems to be the only version of sodium available for 1.21.1?
downgrade dh to 2.1.2
Oh wait you're using the nightly build for 1.21.1 in the #links-n-downloads
uhhh
Uhhh
Download sodium 0.6 ig
And delete indium
It's on the iris discord server
Almost every mod that needs sodium to work will break doe
i think idk
I'll give it a go, but if it doesn't work, is it just a case of waiting for the mods to catch up to the version?
Probably
I think you would also have to open up the sodium jar file using winrar or a similar app and change the fabric-mod-json file inside to not have a specific Minecraft dependency
Cus it'll just not let you boot if it detects any version other than 1.21
Just tried it with Sodium 0.6.0 and no Indium. It has exited at world load again, BUT this time it generated a crash report instead of just vanishing so that's progress.
Error Code 6

Try asking in iris discord server since idk how to read crash reports that isn't just the log saying "Lol this mod failed to load lmaoooo"
Could also prob just be because mac
mac
Yeah that's my guess. It's a segfault somewhere but I don't think there's really much I can do about it. I think I'll wait a week and see if it's just because 1.21.1 is so new and otherwise I will try the iris server. Thanks for the help though
having the same problem too, I’ve got sodium lithium and indium. Starting the game works fine but if I try to join a server or load a world it crashes and gives an error code 6
I use an m2 Mac
Kinda sad the strongest device/mac rn just can't run sodium at all
The performance would go crazy !1!1!11
Wait it doesn’t run sodium?
idk
I can start mine with sodium
idk
M3 mac has crazy good efficiency tho
Mostly cus it's on arm architecture
I’ve heard wish I waited for that one lol
I’ve got the m2 pro with the better gpu
Getting about 200fps with sodium lithium and indium
What res?
Oh
I’m idk it’s whatever the native res of Mac pros are
@Brussels_sprouts (UTC+8) it’s 2084x1536
14 inch Mac
Oh lawd
That is insanely good
1440p retina display at 14 inches 👀
I don't even think you would need anti aliasing at that point
Native resolution is 3024 x 1964 it might have said 2084x1536 because I had it in a weird shaped window
I’ll test it rq
💀
Apple must be sacrificing souls to have this level of performance at such a small tdp 😭🙏🙏
crasy
Yea in full screen I get 3024x1890
And I get 250fps standing still with 14 render distance
On battery with no fan
The future of tech is bright (Hopefully AMD's is too)
Fr wish Mac was actually comparable with games
Yea amd doing good after intel cpus started cooking lol
Hmmm
Wonder if I can half the resolution and double the fps so shaders run decent
Try using resolutioncontrol++ or the port resolutioncontrol3
Amd's new zen 5 laptops have a power efficiency comparable to apple
Like -10% or smth like that
Wat
It's a Mod
Oh
I’ll try that
check issue 793 on gitlab, current workaround is to disable generic rendering in DH settings
Generic Rendering hasn't been added in 2.1.3dev
that depends what version of 2.1.3 you have
oh ye
