HPLIP no longer loading Unable to connect to dbus system bus

hplip on a fedora distrobox is no longer working. tried creating a new distro box and it still fails with

yup needed to create a distrobox with the init system option in boxbuddy

but I installed this in a new fedora box so is the fedora packaging broken? also get the same thing on arch well installed all those packages and still getting the dbus error this maybe why
