pairing chucks with suit, ok?
Hey!
Full disclosure: very much not a suit person, but I've bought one for a summer wedding and I'm trying to do it right.
The dress code is: informal, but with "a touch of class". The bridal family is a bit posh, but in a laid back way. The venue is an outdoor/garden venue.
So I've bought a linen suit in green(earthy, almost army green), pairing it with either a beige or white linen shirt.
So what I'm asking is: would pairing it with a pair of low top black chucks be acceptable for this setting? Or should I use something a bit more formal?

pics will help us answer
I'm out and about shopping right now, so can't snap pics of mine, but it's this color:
nah we'll need to see the pants + chucks together
im inclined to say no tho
ya my gut reaction is no it'll look p bad
I feel like if you wanna go this route leaning right into it and wearing espadrilles or huraches would be better, but impossible to say without seeing really.
I think it can be pulled off, just really depends on the pant hem width and pant length
I'll give it a check when I get home, thanks so far
And I also think high top chucks would look better than lows
It's been done. I used to dig it but not so much anymore. But swag wins here
this looks pretty bad to me lol
for me the idea of suits and converse kinda reads skinny tie wayframe glasses 2013 hipster guy (negative)
black chucks are probably not the answer
This works
Shoes kinda suck
yeah I am even more convinced that this ain't it
Wearing any sort of ‘elevated sneaker’ with a suit looks worse than wearing it with a pair of dirty old beaters
It's a little besides the point of op's thread but for me wearing a suit with sneakers is me saying 'I know this is against the rules but my swag is so different that it works' and so wearing these sort of dress sneaker type things looks more like you're just trying to find a loophole that makes wearing a suit with sneakers 'correct.' It's not 'correct,' and it's not supposed to be.
I find it passably "adorkable" but it's not great by any means.
