I don't know exactly where I should ask this, but I need help if anyone is willing. So, when using iris and sodium on forge (1.20.1) it causes a error when joining a specific server. It reads somewhat as "payload REGISTER" and it'd throw me into a loading loop with that same error message popping up.
This also seems to be the case with embeddium and oculus (both latest versions).
There isn't anything I found pertaining to something like this that isn't years old, but if someone knows a fix or even if you're willing to give your two cents, that'd really be appreciated.

How to get a log file:
Game logs can be found in the
logs sub-directory in .minecraft on clients, or the logs sub-folder of the server directory for servers. We're probably interested in the file named latest.log, which you can drag and drop into Discord.Tag requested by ims21

It's hard to reproduce every time, but more often than not, it won't even load and gets stuck on the red Mojang loading screen. (This is one of the times it won't get me stuck, yet still hands me the error message.)
I should say the red mojang screen happens a lot more when using embeddium and oculus (even more so with my mods), though those are forks of sodium and iris. Regardless, even if it is a lost cause and I just have to switch to fabric, that's okay.

If you don't get forever trapped in the red mojang screen you can rejoin fine.
I use CMD and DH for cinematics, but just recently this has been happening. It's weird.
the red screen is due to the custom texture pack trying to load
since you were kicked out it never loads
If the mojang red screen is a sorta non-issue, what about error message can that be fixed, or it just can't be helped.

Yeah, figured. NeoForge and Forge didn't work, but fabric was no issue.

Samething happened to me when i got the error message .I'd only leave when i got back into the server.

When removing iris or oculus the server would boot just fine.
@IMS It seems like it can't be helped, so if you find anything, that'd be really appreciated, but I also really appreciate the time you shed here. 😄

This sure look like an interesting issue to track.

"If you can help that'd be much appreciated! I'll give some more info:
-It's only a iris and oculus issue.
-It only started recently on a specific server (ip: play.skaurasmp.net)
-I've used forge and neoforge, both latest versions. I used a older version of forge as well.
-I've downgraded oculus and embeddium together, I also downgraded oculus without downgrading embeddium. (I think I also did this on a older version of forge, not sure though.)
-It worsens with more mods installed, sometimes it'll lock you in a resource pack loading screen (red mojang loading screen) when you try the first time to load into the server. (probably not factual.)
-Iris and Sodium work perfectly fine on the server with the fabric modloader."
If this helps anyone then this is here. I'll post some extra stuff later.

Ah, I see. Though, I remember it happening even before joining it on a new install of minecraft. (I usually wipe the files per everytime I messed with something, though take what I say with a grain of salt.)
