game mode doesn't work on RX 480 8GB
After installing Bazzite I was given the problematic GPU warning, even though I know it works in gamescope both in older versions of Bazzite from a few months ago and in ChimeraOS. After this trying to enter game mode results in the system just going back to desktop mode with Steam signed out and restarting puts the system in a state where there is only a text cursor on screen with no way out other than reinstalling. I suspect that disabling the problematic GPU workaround might help, but I can't find any information on how to do that

This warning has long since been removed
and the issue has been resolved in an automatic way
I would grab a newer ISO
the workaround was to apply --backend=drm to the launch options of gamescope, this happened automatically as well
the new one is to run an older gamescope
make sure you're up to date
O pfft, that update must've come out right after I downloaded it then since I grabbed it to put on my Deck about a week ago
problem was fixed a few weeks ago and marked stable for both bazzite and chimeraOS as we found a list of all the pci names for all the polaris cards, that way we could simplify the test case a lot.
before that point we wouldnt detect all the polaris cards and it was during that time we also had the warning as the old workaround had some issues.
but yeah the warning was removed 3 weeks ago as it was no longer needed
