yet another Port Forwarding problem
Hi all! I just recently moved locations and I'm trying to set up my self-hosted server again. I've done all the steps per my last set-up EXCEPT for setting a static internal IP address. When I set up a static IP address, I lose all internet connection. I'm using a TP-Link AC 1750 router with ISP modem (who has confirmed that I can port-forward without issue), and I'm trying to run a Fabric server if it matters. My port refuses to open and I have allowed both the Minecraft port and the MC Voice Chat port I'm using as well. As mentioned, I've done this successfully before so I followed my steps. I also factory reset my router and restarted my computer to no avail. Anyone have any tips or troubleshooting?

I have a similar setup with ans ISP modem/router + TPlink router. Did you open your ports on the TPLink router? Is your server mabye connected to your ISP router instead?
are you double nat'ting?
I opened ports. My ISP did not provide a router, just a modem.
No Iβm not, just the one router.
I have a EU2251 modem from Spectrum.
You sure you opened the TCP port not UDP or whatever the other one is
I think I opened the βbothβ. Should it be only TCP?
I've got mine only on TCP and it works
not sure about the both option
Ah I shall try when I get home. The Internet β’ told me both is best.
Are you using a static IP or Dynamic in your set up?
*internal static
Probably, i forget, when setting up my pihole dns thingy i got really confused by everything
Alrighty. Iβll try after work. Thank you. π
Sorry for the delay but it did not work. :(
Do you have cgnat?
@Kipso
not sure what that is hang on lemme google
Yes it looks like it according to Reddit
Log into your router and look for its WAN/Internet IP address. If it's any of the following, then your router doesn't have a public IP address. 192.168.x.x
okay then you are screwed
r ip
only way would be playit.gg or ngrok
or similiar
Alrighty. Thanks for giving me a proper search term to find out why. o7
