SRV Record Problems
I'm trying to make it so players can connect to my server using mc.<domain>.com so I setup the A record and SRV record as such on namecheap but when I try to connect to the server using only the domain it's unable to connect and only works if I put the port at the end like mc.jcfbd.com:1037 which kinda defeats the purpose of the SRV. Any ideas on why this isn't working for me? Have I set something up wrong perhaps?

Can I configure a subdomain to point to a specific port on my server
I have an old computer which I converted into a Minecraft server. I have 2 Minecraft servers running simultaneously, one on port 25565 (default) and one on port 25566.
I bought the domain something.

Yes...
I have it setup just like that
I didnβt spend all that time writing for it to not be seen
The only difference I see between what you said to do and what I have is my A record is for the subdomain of mc not root
I can ping the subdomain and get see the server IP and all that but when I go to put it in minecraft it only sees the server when I append the port to the end like you would with a normal IP to join
Example?
Hm
Why subdomain tho, you can do something like play.mc.somehtig.something.domain.com in your Srv record
That's just what I found in guides and answers online π€·ββοΈ , they say I need an A record already pointing to the server IP with the subdomain I'm trying to use for it
would a wildcard also serve the same purpose?
I mean just for sanity's sake I've set the A record to root just now and will test it in a minute
DNS records can take time to propagate
So changes you make might not show up until hours later
Tis fine it's propogated already it seems
But same issue unfortunately
I don't really get why it isn't working
https://mcsrvstat.us/server/play.jcfbd.xyz
now this site can see the server but I still can't join without appending the port to the domain
:/
