What belts & shoes should I buy?
So I recently restocked on lots of t-shirts, a raw denim jeans, and three belts from Joop from Peak & Cloppenburg.
Now I have problem what belts I should match with my existing shoes and pants.
For example what do you wear with a jeans or chino and (off)white chucks? Or with dadish, gray White Balance sneakers? The leather shoes I match with the closest leather belt.
I have like max 200 € for two more belts, and I’m also looking for some shoes, max 300 € each. I’m living in Vienna if anyone wants to recommend me a store.
I’m going to basically post all shoes I have right now minus some flip-flops and German house shoes (because we neither wear “real” shoes nor just socks inside at home).
I also posted all belts and Uniqlo chinos I recently bought, and my jeans. Only the left jeans is new. The middle one is pretty wore down raw denim, and it’s getting to costly to keep fixing it.

I don't think you need to match your belt to anything, that's almost purely a rule for wearing suits, i.e. black shoes, black belt
Any of those belts would go with any of the shoe & jeans / chinos combo above
Thanks, that sounds great!
Can you recommend me any shoes? Nothing to fancy or stylish though, I don’t want to stand out too much.
What do you need? It looks like you have a decent spread of casual options
Are there any outfits you wanna wear but you feel like you're missing the appropriate shoes for?
Im not sure. Do you have any suggestions?
I don’t have a suit but that would involve me getting a whole suit, and I’m not doing that during 30 degrees Celsius outside.
I mean there's a million different shoe suggestions that could all be equally valid depending on what vibe you're aiming for
Do you need more options for work / office wear or formal type situations? In which case some black or dark brown leather derbies or something could be a good option.
Or just looking for something that isn't a boot but a bit more 'formal' than sneakers to wear with jeans & chinos?
I work in IT so they actually don’t care. 😅
I checked out #inspiration but that’s kinda out of this world for me to have anything like that look good one me.
I'd have a browse through waywt and see what sort of outfits you want to put together. For example here's a couple I grabbed just now from recent posts, with Doc Martens for an example of a casual leather shoe, or brown loafers, or boat shoes / some sort of camp-moc all being good options:
Do you have same pictures? I’m kinda but with knowing the names of shoes.
Never mind, you already read my mind. 👍
What’s the first and last one called? I don’t think your descriptions are in order, or are they?
Yeah they are, first two are Dr Martens (leather derby being the more generic term if you exclude the brand name), last ones are boat shoes or camp-mocs. "moc-toe" is the name for when they have a flat area with a stitch all the way around the front of the toe
Btw. is there a (European) shoe chain you can recommend? It’s a big ask but you never know where some is from or has been.
I'm the person in the last picture, the shoes are these from Loake - https://www.loake.com/product/lymington-brown/

Lots! Meermin gets recommended often for good value leather shoes. Dr Martens, Camper, Kleman, all pretty common and easy to find. Paraboot for much higher end of the budget range if you're willing to splash out
I'm not sure how easily you could find these in the EU, however a similar shoe in the camp moc/boat shoe look would be a Timberland 3 Eye Lug. I imagine it might be easier to find in the EU
Thanks, I’ll have to check some of those out!
Astorflex is another option that probably covers a lot of these styles. Clarks too actually
GH Bass are a US brand similar to Timberland but easy to find here as well
My second biggest problem: My shoe size is 46 and I’m struggling to find anything in most stores 😟
Browsing somewhere like END Clothing might be useful to get a curated collection of brands all in one place: https://www.endclothing.com/en-de/footwear/brogues-shoes

Yeah, I should have probably looked into a bit beforehand. But I had something to return anyway and felt a bit like browsing.
Great, they got a fat section 😆
Oh wow, just saw like three rows of Doc Martens.
Ok which one should I get? 😂
I kinda like those three colors but they only got the darkest one in 46. 😕
These ones you mean? Seems like a solid option!
Those aren’t available in my size either. Just the darkest ones. 😕
Forgot to upload the picture
Only the ones I’m wearing are in 46.
How uncomfortable are they supposed to be? I feel like it might be fine after a day of walking but maybe not.
Docs do take a lot of breaking-in
They'll likely be pretty sore for the first few wears... But they do get comfy
Maybe let me ask someone if they have 46es to order.
Would you go with the middle ones?
In the ones I’m wearing are too dark. The second darkest could work though m.
I like all of the darker ones
The black ones seem to crease very fast though
Not so keen on the middle-left (lightest) ones here but any of the others look good
Is this normal for all of them? I kinda like a lighter shade than what I’m wearing
Oh wait I’m wearing that one you marked. It’s just the massive size difference and the creases.
I have dark brown ones that I like
What color are your soles? You might have different ones, they aren’t creasing as much either.
Oh yeah mine are darker almost black soles. Shouldn't make too much difference over all though
I wore them 10 min and they already look like that.
I think it can be cool but I’m not feeling it with this one. Maybe a lighter color.
These ones look cool too
Omg either I missed them or someone just restocked
In 46
What are we thinking? I liked them.
They also don’t crease that much and are more comfortable.
That being said paraboot boat shoes are surprisingly affordable when in the EU

Just meant the website? That’s apparently the preview 😁
They got Clark’s as well. Not sure I’m feeling those.
No where near my size either
So keep those?
Looks good, yeah if you like those ones and they fit well they seem like a great option!
Thanks man, I already purchased them.
The one is they also have those light yellow soles but I don’t mind.
