FAQ: Help! The installer is telling me to check my internet connection!
If you are getting an error that says "Please check your internet connection!" when using the Iris installer, something is blocking access to the server Iris gets its files from. Luckily, there are workarounds:
Manual installation - Go to https://fabricmc.net/ to download the Fabric installer. Select your Minecraft version and click install. Go to https://modrinth.com/mods to download the Sodium and Iris mods, which you should then put in %appdata%/Roaming/.minecraft/mods. Launch the game with Fabric Loader selected.
If you insist on using the Iris installer, or even the Fabric installer does not work for you, you may be able to fix the issue by updating your Java, using a VPN, or changing your DNS server. Google is your friend if you want to try any of these methods.
